Intimate setting, food was so fresh and flavourful. Favourite dish was the grilled calamari, ouzo margarita was also delicious.

Cosy restaurant serving fabulous food in Balmain. Food was delicious and vibrant in taste and presentation. Great service and well priced as well. Ticks all the boxes for a winner local restaurant!

Wild weed pie and chargrilled calamari were our favourites. Lots of gluten free options on the menu too.

The food was exceptional, beautiful flavours and presentation.
A relaxed atmosphere for a Tuesday night. We took our time and did not feel rushed. The staff were lovely.
We will definitely be back and recommend trying Greek Door to our friends.

The atmosphere is lovely. Mix of cozy and classic. Perfect for big groups and also good for a date night. Foods came out fast and tasty 😋 the service is good.
Might go back there sometime to try the other menu.

Cosy ambient space, with lovely service staff that are helpful and attentive.

Although not a lot to offer on the menu, the food was delicious.
The char grilled chicken and the cod roe and pita was full of flavour and cooked well.

This Greek Restaurant is a wonderful surprise on Darling Street in Balmain.
Located in a quieter section of the suburb, the food is delicious, the service is friendly
and the prices are very reasonable considering their size.

2023 UPDATE - Matina still produces consistently delicious and fresh food. Of particular note in last night’s meal was the prawn saganaki (where my family ordered additional pita bread just to mop up the sauce) and char-grilled lamb kopsidia 👌👌. I also loved the inventiveness and taste of the baklava tart and the indulgent but not too sweet flourless chocolate cake with dark chocolate I cream and marinated prunes 😋 Service was delightful as always ✨

I didn’t know Greek food could be this good. In fact, it’s so amazing here that there wasn’t a dish I could fault. The richness of the eggplant and slow-cooked lamb is perfectly balanced with the side of an ancient grains salad (it’s like something out of an Ottolenghi book but better). Try some of the handmade taramosalata served with soft pita bread and you’ll never want to eat the store-bought variety again. The zucchini and feta fritters with tzatziki was surprisingly light and creamy on the inside and crispy outside. We finished it off with a dessert called “bougatsa” (sadly the only thing I ended up taking a photo of ...) which was a lovely warm semolina custard-filled filo pastry served with a berry sorbet 👌But the real revelation was the small but interesting selection of Greek wines and spirits (try the Mastiha, which they have also churned into a beautifully earthy ice cream - see white ice cream in photo), which all go wonderfully with the food. And great service to boot! 💫💫💫

What a great little greek find. Food is, exceptional, fresh, made with love and bursting with flavour. We have almost tried everything on the menu....our second time here now, we will be back.

Wonderful restaurant in Balmain. The food is imaginative and delicious. Great dishes for sharing. Try the Wild Weed Pie.
The selection of Greek wines also worth exploring. I had a red from Peloponnese peninsula. My partner had a delicious white from Crete.

We love Greek Door! The food is so lovely, very much prepared with care, super fresh and traditional while also being modern-ish in a smart way. The weed pie is a must. Octopus and chargrilled lamb are also our go-to’s but, honestly, I’ve never had anything that I didn’t truly like…and even love…off her menu. Matina, the owner and chef, is an incredible cook and her team back of house and front of house are just lovely. A highlight of the Balmain/Rozelle food scene. Book in!

What an experience this restaurant was! Our waiter was a real card and made the night very entertaining and fun. The meals though we're what shone though. So authentic and delicious. The martini's were dangerously good and the place itself set the scene for what a perfect dinner. We loved this place and will be back as soon as we can.

Amazing! Sophisticated Greek restaurant in Balmain. Every dish we tried was absolutely delicious. My favorite was the spentzofai and beef kopsidia. The Peplo rose wine was just fantastic. Atmosphere cosy and warm. Staff absolutely kind and professional. Matina the owner such a lovely person. Not to mention the beautiful Greek Playlist songs were playing at the background. We can't wait to be back.

Outstanding good and service. Couldn't fault a thing. Greek wine was nice too. We didn't have a reservation but they made room for us on a busy Saturday night. Chef even came out to say hi to everyone. The squid and lamb were both excellent, tzatziki delicious too!
Lots of gluten free options too.

The food and service here was first rate. The most beautiful and authentic Greek food, and the service was excellent. Our waiter was charming and funny and it made for a great time spent there. We will be back as soon as we can make time. If you want quality food and a good price this is the place.

An absolutely fantastic meal! So many different flavours & incredible textures. We had delicious starters & mains - no room for dessert 😁. Great service, great Margheritas, super friendly. We’ll be back!!
