Field Blend Wine & Cheese Store

My first trip into Field Blend this morning and it was great to find an independent retail wine outlet that carries a wide and diverse selection of quality produce...nice coffee too thnx. Definitely be back for more...wine that is :)

field blend is a small shop, tucked a little way down darling street… it sells the most exquisite wines, spirits, beers, cheeses, biscuits, charcuterie, and coffee…

wines have been very carefully selected from small producers, that you will not find in chains. a similar story for the beers and spirits on offer. aaron listens carefully, and matches wines to your taste, food, budget, and occasion.

another little gem is the two of a kind wine club, where aaron selects a different grape every month, and sources two wines at two different price points, providing context on the grape, as well as a solid write up on the wines on offer… i’ve been coming back for this for about four years, and love it.

This place has really high quality cheeses and cured meats! We tried truffle manchego for the first time and it was a great intro into hard cheeses as we usually go for brie as our standard. For cured meats we had prosciutto, truffle salami and calabrese - great strong flavours and a perfect complement to the cheese.

I just love this place. I reckon the stock list must have been selected with great love because every wine I have bought has been fabulous and pleasingly distinctive. I buy the excellent cheeses sometimes too. (Edit) BTW after posting this I saw two reviews complaining about the service. While I can’t comment on their experience I have found the (presumably) owner to be nice and super helpful, and on two occasions when a lady at the shop could not answer my questions she was able to immediately call someone who knew the answers.

Excellent selection of wine and charcuterie. The owners are lovely and knowledgeable can’t recommend them highly enough.

Field Blend is a must visit for any lover of wine or cheese. All the wines I have had from here (on Aaron’s recommendation) have been excellent, and at very reasonable prices. The cheeses are also outstanding. Aaron’s customer service is also first class; including searching out the last few cases in Australia of an Italian wine I had particularly enjoyed.

Worth the journey from on or off the Balmain peninsula.

Cracking little spot, with all the best naughty stuff you could want. Great coffee, awesome-looking cheeses and meats, a few good beers and an excellently balanced selection of the grapey stuff. Nice selection of wine, spirits, meats,cheese and coffee. Nice to get some unique options rather than the same stuff from the big chains. Support the little guys, their quality is great

Lovely people with real knowledge and love of what they're selling. With the sad passing of the excellent Gourmet Grocer a few years back (and a big shout-out to Andy Arnfield-Jones for all he did for us Balmainiacs) this is a fantastic addition to the suburb. Currently scoffing an exquisite Le Conquerant Camembert in perfect condition - thanks guys, merry Christmas and we'll be sure to be doing our dough with you in 2019!

A fabulous providore on Darling Street with friendly staff. Excellent selection of wines from interesting regions and wineries, and delicious cured meats and cheeses (things like wild boar salami, chestnut salami, goats cheddar and vacherousse dArgental) They also have tastings, fresh bread and pastries, and pour Allpress espresso just in case you didn't already have a reason to stop in.

Gorgeous platters! Presentation is always lovely & the cold meats & cheeses are premium quality. My go-to for special occasions.

Thank you Aaron and Martina for the beautifully chosen wines, cheese and gin to keep me happy in hotel quarantine. Very excited to try the Applewood gin that has just been delivered to my door :-)
