Just Fine Food - Home of Sorrento's Famous Vanilla Slice

Arrived here on a Friday lunchtime with 30-odd other hungry cyclists having just ridden down from Melbourne.

The staff seemed a bit shell-shocked but we all got our food and left happy.

What do you do when 60 cyclists turn up for lunch unexpectedly!? The folks at Just Fine Food crack on and get the job done. Great food, fantastic coffee and friendly service. Thankyou from cycling dad's Oz. #CDOZ

Personally I don't care if the owner "stalks reviews" as other reviews have suggested. It's about the food for me.

The food is great, admittedly I've only ever had the vanilla slice. The owner/staff have always had great customer service and have been great to deal with.

On the slice, don't be fooled by the local imitations. This is the definitive vanilla slice and the best I have ever had. I come here once a year from Qld and this is always one of my highlights.

Please never change I hope to come back for years!

The vanilla slice was absolutely delicious. We visited over the Afl weekend and got 6 vanilla slices to take home to share with the family. It was very busy and from my experience at the time staff were doing their very best. The family thoroughly enjoyed the vanilla slices and wanted more

Great vanilla slice and passion fruit sponge cake!! The service is very efficient with prepackaged takeaway. Although I did wonder if it would have tasted better from the display cabinet. The top was not as flaky as the display ones looked.

Had a great big breakfast, and finished it off with a coffee and a slice, coffee was excellent and the slice could easely make my top 3, and I'm a baker! The staff was great, very switched on. We even got and extra slice because the waiter thought the first one they cut was too small! Definitely coming back.

I have no clue why people would complain about this place, even though it was packed with the line out the door, the Lady at the front was pumping out orders with such skill and pace, it was only a small 3 minute wait, but differently worth it. The slice was beautiful and the coffee was amazing and not to mention the service was great!!!
I will be back for more :) Keep doing what you do best ;)

I picked up a selection of cakes to take to family on Christmas day. 2 vanilla slices, one of the cheesecakes and a passionfruit sponge. The place had a line of customers, and all the tables were seated, so very busy which is to be ecpected on Christmas day. One of the only places open today in Sorrento!

I think the owner served me. He originally picked up a pre-packed bag of vanilla slices. They were probably fine but I'm quite picky about being able to view what I'm purchasing, so I asked him to pack a fresh box with all cakes displayed together. He was happy to do that.

All the cakes were hugely oversized, a feast for the eyes. So far we've tried the vanilla slices and the passionfruit sponge. I'm not really a fan of vanilla slice, but it seemed lovely. I am however a big fan of cheesecake and the one I bought was topped high with mixed berries. Not too sweet, relying more on the fruit for sweetness, rather than just sugar. Just how i like it.

The price (takeaway) for all 4 cakes was around $32.00. I left my change from $35 in the tip jar as a token of appreciation for those who woke up early to serve us on Christmas day.

Yes, I think $8 for cake isn't cheap. But if I wanted cheap cake I could have gone to 7-Eleven. I wanted beautiful, colourful, oversized and super-indulgent cakes for a super-indulgent day. I got what I paid for and when I asked the staff to cater for my selectiveness they did so without fuss.

What a beautiful little bakery/cafe. The Vanilla Slice is a must have, but be prepared for a sugar overload and quite the food coma. Order with a coffee to balance the sweetness. Absolutely delicious would definitely come back.

Great coffee, vanilla slice was succulent and highly addictive. The hidden gem however was the Eggs Benedict which absolutely exploded with flavour. Definitely will be returning again soon! 10/10

We had Caramel Slice (best I’ve had) and a Vanilla Slice (delicious).. the latte was also great!

Best Vanilla Slice, worth a pilgrimage. Great salads; was allowed to mix the excellent beetroot and large Lebanese couscous salads. Friendly staff.

Yes, it's a little bit expensive, but the vanilla slice is well worth it, breakfast and coffee are good too. It's a good starting point for a loop round the shops.

The rating doesn’t do justice to this store, which makes it hard for me when I recommend it to EVERYONE for their best vanilla slice in town.

Beautiful coffe and chai! Beautiful vegan lamington! Reasonavly priced for area. Don't know what the whingeing is about.

I have been here several times and it always has great food options, coffee is great and vanilla slice is exceptional.
