Fantastic Germanic vibe with exceptional views when sitting out on the balcony. Wait staff very friendly and accomodating, but as the pics show the food spoke for itself. Deliscious, do yourself a favour and go get it. Love that Pork knuckle Cracklin CRUNCH

A lovely lunch. I chose the pork knuckle which was cooked to perfection and generously proportioned. Hubby had the steak. My only negative comment would be the steak was not so generous and the plate looked quite low-tide compared to mine. Desserts were simply scrumptious, I had the strudel - yummm!! Staff were friendly and welcomed us even though we came one hour earlier than our booking time. Always a pleasure to eat here.

John & the team at King Ludwigs went over and beyond for us. We were looking for somewhere to have our family lunch following our small intimate wedding, but ended up having the wedding in the property garden. The views were stunning and John was very accommodating. The food, beer and service were all excellent - the Pork Knuckle was exceptional, we highly recommend this restaurant to all our friends and any who asks where we were married.

Expectations were exceeded by 100. Beautiful, friendly staff and high quality and generous portioned food. The setting is wonderfully authentic - feels like a mountain chalet in Bavaria. And the Apple strudel is worth the drive from Brisbane alone!! Very special.

After not being able to take our dog to the Mountain View Cafe down the road, we popped into King Ludwigs just down the road, to see if we had any better luck.
It ended up being the best decision we made that day.
They showed us to the most beautiful table outside in the garden, with the most stunning view of the Glasshouse Mountains, under the shade of a beautiful tree. The service was friendly and attentive and the food was absolutely delicious. Even if we were to visit Maleny again, without the dog, this will still be our number one choice to stop for a delicious lunch, great selection of meals and to take in that stunning, uninterrupted view. 10/10, would have no hesitation recommending to others.

The best German pub I have ever been to. the staff were super friendly, amazing variety of beers and delicious food. The pork knuckle was to die for! We had to come 2 nights in a row 😂 Will definitely come back for Octoberfest! Thanks heaps team :)

This restaurant, never disappoints… Always fantastic service with a smile… Nothing is too much trouble… AND without a doubt THE BEST VIEW from any restaurant on the coast!!!

First time at this restaurant, some items are expensive but a excellent range of food on menu .Great helpful & friendly service by staff .Awesome range on drinks menu , great decor and spectacular views of Glass House Mountains .Will need to book .

Had the most amazing birthday dinner here! The staff are super friendly and attentive. I got a lovely table with an amazing view. The beers are fantastic and food is delicious. Will definitely be back!

Popped in for a pint whilst in the area and also tried one of their pretzels. It came with blue cheese sauce which was beautiful. Their steins and selection of ales and beers is extensive and the lager we chose was great. The staff were super friendly and chatty and even recommended us some games to play whilst having our pint. We got pretty hooked on the Japanese game with the ball. Overall we’d certainly return.

My family had lunch here and everything was amazing staff,food, service. Highly recommend this restaurant. We will be going back ..thankyou for a lovely day.

This place is special! It's almost impossible to get a reservation here, so book ahead if you think you want to go; trust me. Very authentic, great view and good food. Can't go wrong. Prices match the quality, so expect to pay $40 plus drinks for a meal.

Food, beer and location was exceptional as always, but this was our first visit since ownership changed hands, and we were missing the exceptional service we had come to expect from Barbara and Klaus. Our experience last night was obviously still great, but when you have come to expect what Barbara and Klaus could provide, there will always feel like something is missing at King Ludwigs. I hope this restaurant will continue to thrive for many years to come, and that the new owners will continue to develop this venue into something that it warrants and deserves, and I plan to visit again when I am next passing through.

The first thing you’ll notice when you entry the place is the ambiance - it is warm, welcoming & so European. It took me back to my trip to Germany during a winter vacation. The staff are very friendly & so sweet. Let me tell you more about the food - simply delicious & authentic. I never had so authentic German food in Australia. The beer, OMG! It was fab! Last but not the least - THE VIEW! Definitely go for the balcony table and you won’t be disappointed. The pics below is the view from where we were sitting. I’m definitely going back again soon, even though it’s about 100 kms from my place. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Traditional Bavarian food on a steamy Xmas Eve. Storm in the distance, then it arrived, downpour and a drop in temperature. Wow

John took exceptionally good care of our party of six for lunch today. We all ate delicious meals, enjoyed excellent service and had the most magnificent views.
Being shown around Johns eclectic car collection was just the icing on the cake.
Oh and did I forget to mention the strudel.

We got a pork knuckle which has to be pre ordered, but there happened to be one spare. Maybe slightly overcooked but still really nice. The lager on tap was great too.
You don’t go to a German restaurant for the best flavours, you go there for the atmosphere, fresh beer, and hearty meals. This is exactly what we got. To top it off getting a seat on the balcony with a killer view made it all come together.

This place was out of this world good. A stormy night, great expansive view of old broken volcanos. We loved the food - Pork Knuckle and traditional soup. The service was flawless - real sweethearts of people.

The place is nice atmosphere, the food taste good, amazing view. Will come back next time for full meal because we came late and they only have light meal

From the moment we made the call to book for lunch to the moment we left was amazing! Love it when you go out and everything is as you hope plus some. Every meal was delicious and the service was great! The views top it all off!
