Coolum Beach Medical Centre

I am visiting from NSW and was referred to Dr Joe de Jager by a nearby audiologist. Dr Joe was refreshingly honest, direct and professional, with a touch of humour thrown in for good measure, which I enjoyed. Dr Joe was very reassuring with both issues I presented with, and took the time to explain everything and completed thorough examinations. Sure, he is a different manner to what some might call "normal", but I liked that approach. Would highly recommend him.

I recently visited Coolum Beach Medical Centre for my follow up Covid 19 immunisation, something I wasn’t looking forward to. But to my delight it was not only a painless procedure but I was entertained and laughed from go to whoa. I arrived at the surgery and was pleasantly greeted by Kally. She was friendly, professional and had us on an efficient schedule where we felt attended to and informed of each step. Like a precision military team with all the fun and jovialness of a luncheon with friends. Each group of 5 patients moved from outside to the waiting area, information at the ready, from there to the doctor then onto the Nurse who gave us the “ jab”. The nurse gave us a sticker to identify what time we were able to leave incase of reaction. I must commend this amazing team as they dealt with a large volume of patients with high exceptions and low tolerance with such confidence, professionalism, humour & organisational skills & the atmosphere they created. I couldn’t recommend them more highly .

Dr Tim Smith has been excellent. He has removed skin cancers from difficult positions around the eye and facially without leaving any trace.
The procedures have been performed painlessly and with great skill.
I would recommend him to anyone with damaged skin and general medical queries.

First time seeing dr Joe. Helped me so much, explained everything to me better than any gp prior. Really felt comfortable with him, will be recommending to friends and family!

I found these guys on hotdoc at the start of the year and I'm glad I did

They informed me the first visit incurs a fee but after that it was fully bulk billed

I can actually freely visit a doctors surgery, something I haven't been able to do in years, due to the massive costs involved

I used to visit the 7 day doctors across the road, but not anymore

The doctor I used was a very chilled & laid back bloke

Excellent doctors and very friendly and considerated staff. Im vert happy to have my doctor Timothy Smith. He is very proffesional, a gentlemen, and beautiful human being.

Dr Timothy Smith was a gentlemen and very thorough. I trust him which is more I can say for most GP's unfortunately. Happy to refer him.

Fantastic clinic, Dr Satish went above and beyond caring for my unwell son and we are very grateful for the service from the whole team

First class staff and doctors

Have been going there for over 20 years and have experienced highs and a few lows. I don't know the credentials of Anne but she is extreemly helpful, with a great personality and customer sevice. The support she offers to clients is essential and much appreciated. Thank you Anne

Really good doctor's here but it was a shame I needed to wait 65min for my appointment. While reception delt with it okay for most people I was not advised of the wait untill asking after 25 min

family GP clinic for years and can't fault it, efficient,
up with contemporary medicine, friendly... Running a brilliant covid 19
vaccination clinic. In short a real asset to our community. Unfortunately from now on no further bulk billing and greater out of pocket...

Didn't get to see a doctor. I waited for 35 minutes with young kids on my only day off for weeks. Couldn't wait any longer.

Went in to get a prescription refilled for a medication I have been taking for years, expected it to be simple. Instead I was lectured about a contraceptive I already said I was not interested in and then he noticed a scar on my chest. He told me I should “get that sorted” because it would be a turn off for men???? Left with a prescription for cortisol shots that I never asked for. I was also told by this man who was sweating and out of breath while sitting in chair that I was “pudgy”. Someone take away Joe’s medical license, he doesn’t deserve to be called a doctor.

I booked this clinic by accident and that's what it was - an accident. Worst experience I have ever had. Dr Joe spend 15 minutes telling me my contraception was giving me acne, keloids, making me fat, ruining my body and advised that I need to go to the east coast to get an under the bench implant put in. I went in for a skin check and he eyeballed it for a whole of 20 seconds and was done. "Yeah all good" is not really a good enough response when I've had family members pass away from skin cancer. Never going back and WOMEN - AVOID. AVOID. AVOID.

completely unprofessional and kind of rude. tried to force me to pay the full amount, even though i had my medicare details and put them down accordingly, but then i was refused to the appointment anyway because their eftpos machine was down and i didn’t have my wallet to withdraw cash, i wasn’t told about this earlier in the same day when i organised my appointment. the lady at the counter even aggressively threw up her arms and raised her voice at me “well what do you want to do then?” at the end of the interaction. it was uncalled for and rude. i was also interrupted while this lady was raising her voice at me half way through telling me that i need to pay the full amount by another man smirking and whispering something to her. look, i’m not usually fussy about this sort of thing, i can understand that maybe these people have had a bad day or something, but i seriously don’t think i deserved this level of hostility and stress towards me just trying to get my very concerning issue checked out. i myself stayed level headed and talked calmly the entire time and i was treated unfairly for and spoken to harshly for reasons i don’t think are fair to put onto your clients.
