We had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Masuya. Amazing food quality! Highly recommend if you love authentic Japanese food especially sashimi and beef hotpot.
We were well looked after by Nicky, a courteous, friendly and conscientious server. There were however rude customers that created an unnecessary scene - not the restaurant’s or the staff’s fault.

Excellent food and great service.
Made reservations for my wife's birthday and they didn't disappoint, managed to seat in a corner space where it's quieter.

Sashimi was fresh and quite a good variety. Wish we could have tried the bigger sets but wanted to try other food as well.

Service staff was courteous and attentive.

Didn't drive there so can't comment about the parking but it being in town, don't think it will be easy to find parking nor will it be cheap.

Sashimi was so good! There are so many options on the menu for sashimi & sushi combos which is great for those who can’t eat certain fish/shellfish.

I treated my family to a delectable dinner at Masuya. The staff warmly welcomed us with their beaming smiles. We started our culinary journey with the delightful sashimi platter, featuring fresh seafood delicately cut into mouthwatering pieces.

Our main courses included the savory wasabi steak cooked medium rare and presented on hot stones accompanied by Sapporo's signature creamy broth in an exquisite potpourri of flavors that left all taste buds yearning for more.

We look forward enthusiastically toward indulging again soon as other equally tantalizing options await exploration!

Masuya is a little hidden gem that has become my go-to spot for consistently excellent Japanese food. Tucked away, it feels like a secret treasure trove for those who appreciate authenticity and quality. The menu is a delight, offering a range of Japanese dishes that are not only beautifully presented but also consistently delicious. The attention to detail in each dish speaks volumes about the chef's commitment to excellence. Whether it's sushi, sashimi, or a warm bowl of ramen, Masuya never fails to impress. It's that reliable spot where you can count on a fantastic Japanese culinary experience every time you walk through the door.

An outstanding Japanese restaurant. Arguably the best Japanese in Sydney; certainly the best value for money and best service. Masuya doesn't try to be too fancy, just superbly fresh ingredients prepared to perfection. I'd highly recommend the Tempura and Wagyu; both were outstanding.

Fatty tuna sooo good. Worth getting it in Nigiri form, even if you get the boat.

I love Japanese food. My friend took me to this awesome hidden Japanese restaurant near Wynyard (O'Connell St)
The kingfisher was out of this world! Super fresh and full of flavour as it melts in your mouth. My usual fav is the Agedashi Tofu, crispy and semi sweet. The best part is the massive sashimi platter. So fresh and tasted divine! Will want to go back just to have their Bento boxes... looks tasty!!

This was our first time in a Japanese restaurant and it was a wonderful experience with the family. The food was delicious, I highly recommend the sushi rolls. And the customer care was superb, Rissa, our waitress, and the rest of the team at Masuya are incredible and made this experience better. This is overall a spectacular dining place. Highly recommend.

The customer service was super nice! We really enjoyed the oysters and the sashimi. The taste of the seafood was very refreshing! Even received a complimentary taste of some alcohol I don’t even know the name of! Definitely a lovely restaurant for a night out!

Came here and got the Masuya Course for my girlfriend and I as part of her birthday celebration. Hands down one of the best sushi experiences we've had ever had. The food prepared by our chef was amazing, not to mention the professional service by the friendly Aney 🙂. We had a wonderful time, will definitely be back soon!

Love all the dishes here. The special king fish’s head was absolutely delicious. Sashimi were fresh. Chicken namba and karage chicken were freshly made so they were crunchy on the outside and juicy inside. Grilled Pork belly are a must try! The wagyu beef skewers were a bit tough to chew. But overall all the quality of food were amazing and not too pricey.
