Delicious food and friendly service in a gorgeous location: fabulous!
We enjoyed everything about Capucin, its scenic location, sunny outside seating and great offer of meals and fine pantry products.
Highly recommend the Bourguignon Pie, the salmon bagel and the coffee. French owners and staff were super friendly, we will come again!

Intrinsically French and all the better for it. Great spot for a coffee and they do a fantastic pot of tea. Long black and a croissant with a read of one of the newspapers for sale makes for a lovely morning. They do lovely poached eggs and all the pastries are great. A highlight is their Beef Bourguignon Pie and they have a fantastic range of home made frozen meals and condiments. Love that the sourdough toast is served with real butter and a delicious pot of jam, no Vegemite here haha. Just a beautiful spot, sit inside or take in the view at the tables outside

Our perfect everything spot - quick coffee - absolutely delicious, breakfast with an egg and bacon Brioche Roll don’t forget to ask for tomato relish and afterwards suggest a jump off the pier. Lunch with a toasted smoked salmon bagel and an iced coffee. Great if you have a dog as plenty of space to tie them up. Service is spot. We are so lucky to have them on our doorstep.

Real French experience! The place has a great atmosphere with a French pantry inside the cafe. Awesome food which is made and served with some authentic products made in France. Excellent service. We had a croque monsieur (delicious bechamel sauce) and a buttery croissant served with French jam and butter. And a good coffee that wrapped very well our experience.

I am so happy I discovered this wonderful cafe. I came up to the Peninsula for a few days to relax and found Le Capucin. I am very fussy with my coffee and both times I came, the coffee was fantastic. I'm a reformed coffee addict so I'm kind of glad I don't live locally otherwise I'd be addicted again! The beef pie was outstanding and the rhubarb pastry and croissant were delicious. The views are gorgeous and staff are friendly. I'll definitely be back again. I want to try everything on the menu 😉

Such a lovely place to sit outside and eat great fresh food. Yummy home made pies, fabulous fresh rolls, wonderful salmon omelettes and coffee and cakes. They also make home made frozen meals to take home. We often have a stash of them in our freezer instead of ordering take away. Ps. Best french fries

We keep coming back here, every trip, multiple times. It is the best. And just when I thought I’d had everything on the menu something new pops up. Well done Le Cap team your passion is inspiring.

I only had a gourmet pie and a couple of coffees, but it was still fantastic. The service was so efficient & friendly, and the coffee was perfect. This was despite the fact that it is holiday high season and demand was very high. The crowded environment at that time of year in this location can present some...challenging...customers & situations. Wonderful service.

Such a beautiful French inspired cafe on the corner of Portsea beach. We loved sitting at their outdoor seating area with our puppy. Staff were friendly and attentive. The beef burger ($19.50) was a classic, great size and tasty with super crunchy fries on the side. The Boeuf bourguignon pie pie ($9.50) which is home made was out of this world! The flavours were just impeccable, the pastry with both equally buttery and flakey and didn’t need any tomato sauce to make it better so that’s a definite sign of a good pie! Good value for money, great atmosphere and overall delicious food.

A little French inspired gem. Great service, great view, lovely cafe food. Beautiful outdoor area on a nice day like today. While not an extensive menu, there’s more than enough here to satisfy everyone. We loved our omelette and baguettes. The truffle fries were brilliant too. The coffee was exceptional. Service was excellent. We had a great time and are very keen to come here again.

A lovely French inspired cafe / restaurant with some great service and ideal location near to the Pier and surrounding dive spots. The food was delicious and the coffee was good, although a little expensive (but expected) on the beach front. The menu was not extensive, but had options to cater to everyone, and the venue was very well presented and clean. Great for post-dive snacks!

Came here for breakfast a couple of times while staying at the Portsea Village Resort.

I had the breakfast roll which had bacon, egg, relish and cheese. It was the BEST egg and bacon roll I have EVER HAD! It tasted fresh, the egg and bacon cooked to perfection with the yolk still runny! The relish gave it the perfect touch! So so yummy!

The staff were friendly also!

My mate , spend $150 for our breakfast here , we also take away some for fishing trip , stuff was lovely, the food is better than any brunch in Melbourne city , only the pastry are bit soft , however the panini was next level!
