Armidale Skate Park

In need of more shaded areas.

Very sturdy for beginners

Nice park seemed to be upgraded large concrete vert ramps some interesting angles that make it imo not great for a novice though there is sum smaller stuff for learning lots of scooter not many skaters

This skatepark is let down by a really poor design. The obstacles remaining from the old park are weathered but not bad, ledge and flatbar are fine and the little bank thing is pretty fun. The new section of the park, on the other hand, is a total mess. There's no run up for the funbox/downrail, all of the banks are ankle-breakingly steep, and the open bowls are largely unskateable—nothing seems to line up and it's a very janky transition into the flat bank/pyramid joining them at the end.

This park was really old and bad. Then council wasted alot of money on adding an extension, half of which is unusable due to terrible design. There is a huge amount of room to extend and turn this skatepark into a thriving youth hub, with the town pool next door and a basketball court (which is separated by a large fence, making it unusable unless you pay $5 for entry to the pool, no one uses it)...
The youth of armidale really have no 'free' options to stay entertained around town and people complain when they linger in town.
Council could inject some money into something other than another playground for toddlers and really make a positive impact on the social youth issues this town faces.
