A great day tour. Nat is a fantastic host and kept us entertained and informed. Amazing areas to see and great that someone else is doing the driving.

Really enjoyable tour of the 3 Outback pubs with an incredibly knowledgeable local guide. Has a great day, had some nice drinks, got all of our questions answered... And even fossicked a few opals of our own!

The outback tour we went on included the three pubs, but no private sites. My only suggestion would be to include a bit more 'off the beaten path', but still, our experience was great due to the guide we had.

What a fun and informative day we had with Nat our Tour Guide going over and above to make sure we were all enjoying ourselves. Nothing was too much trouble and what a character she is!
The scones for morning tea were outstanding and the locals entertaining then we moved on to The Glengarry Hilton for lunch which was also yummy.
I would highly recommend the full day tour…it was great.

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Nat as our navigator. She was full of lots of stories about the farming and opal mining around Lightning Ridge. The three pubs and the war memorial were all interesting places. The tour was worth every cent and we had lots of fun. Nat our tour guide had the most unique style of entertaining the tour bus passengers. Her expertise in this field saw us have a wonderful day and left us with a lifetime of fantastic memories.

Wow. What a cracker of an experience.
Highly recommended this full day tour to visit the outback pubs and try your hand at fossicking for opals. Nat was great as our guide. Knowledgeable, friendly and fun.
The bus experience was the way to go as we would never have thought to find our way around ourselves.
Thanks for a great time Outback Opal Tours.

Our guide picked us up and dropped us back to the caravan park. We did a 4 hour tour. He was extremely knowledgeable of Lightning Ridge. He was very friendly. The scones were delicious. I would highly recommend this tour. Very happy with the experience.

Had a fantastic day with Nat from Outback Opal tours. They pick you up in the morning from your accommodation, then you can relax all day.
Nat told us information and pointed things out when we were driving.
1st stop Sherpyard Inn where the scones for morning tea were beautiful. We then had time to look around and do some fossicking in the pile.
Next we went to the Glengarry Hilton for a fantastic lunch, checked out Sweeney's crafts then fossick some more.
After lunch we saw the War Memorial & museum before going the The Club in the Scrub for an arvo drink.
Top marks to the team and all at the pubs.

Done the half day tour and the full day tour. Have visited the area before and wanted to see more .. these tours fulfilled that and more. Great fun with a great guides even booking it was a pleasure as all staff extremely helpful and couldn’t do enough to make the trip fantastic. Town tour was brilliant and we were given sooo much info (and humour)... the day tour helped put all the info together seeing so much more to fully understand the opal mining process. Even if you’re interest isn’t mainly mining there is so much to see in regards to miners lifestyle and the beauty of the opal outback area. Totally loved every aspect. Can’t wait for my next visit through Lightening ridge.

Thanks Nat and Trev for an informative and fun tour to pubs in the scrub 20/4/24. Wasn’t looking good weather wise when we left LR but all good when we got there. My daughter and I found a bit of colour which made our day.

We had such a blast with Nat on the full day trip to the pubs and the opal fields.
It was truly fun to get guided by a local that was Born and raised here as she knew so much to tell on the opal business, the surrounding, the farmers, the weather and the locals living here.

Nat is not "doing a job" but is really enjoying herself by taking people on this trip, you sureley can tell this because of the natural way she talks, chats and making jokes.

Her interaction with the locals is as natural and pure as she herself is and it makes sense to the whole tour experience that you feel like you are amongst the locals.

Keep up the good job that you guys are doing and donatie change anything 'cause we felt this was a True outdoor tour experience.

Love and kind regards from the 2 Dutchies on the bus the 16th of April

An incredible trip out to Grawin and surrounds today with these guys. Our tour guide, Nat, from a local family, entertained and educated us pretty much non stop. This particular tour makes you really aware of the vastness of outback NSW, as well as immersing you in the absolute quirkiness of a mining community that tolerates up to 52 degrees in summer and scenery which is just a tad Mad Maxish. I really could write all day about this one. From wild goats to fossicking for Opals, lunch at a pub and chatting with locals (including a lovely Opal buyer who showed up), the day was packed with things to do. Nat provided a great commentary and was easy to chat to. A great tour.

29/7 Went out with Nat again today, she really is a legend 😊, a ‘mine’ (lol) of information 😊😊. All jokes aside, I can’t recommend these tours highly enough. I’m a bit of a budget traveller usually and am coming to appreciate the value of doing a tour with a knowledgeable guide. She really has such a broad spectrum of knowledge and I’m getting a great understanding of this quirky and beautiful community, in part, through these tours 💐🦘💕

We spent a full day hanging out with Borko and his gang out in the Grawin learning first hand about how opal is mined. It has been the highlight of our Lightning Ridge trip. Borko was very friendly (so is his dog Rusty!) and made sure all our questions were answered. He took the time to explain to us in detail of the various aspects of life out here in the opal fields which really enriched our experience and made it extra memorable. We were even shown how the lapidary machines work and had help polishing some of our own fossicking finds. It was such a mesmerising sight I ended up joining the NSW Lapidary Club when I got back to Sydney😂😂😂! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH and we hope to come visit again soon!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🌈🌈🌈

What more can I say about Outback Opal tours. We went to Lightning Ridge to celebrate my Sons 9th Birthday. Trevor the tour guide picked us up and let Lachlan sit in the front seat of the bus and presented him with a birthday gift. I cannot speak highly enough about this company and thank them for a wonderful time.

We did the all day outback tour to the mining fields and the 3 bush pubs. It was brilliant! Our driver and commentator plainly loves her job and the 'ridge'. By tours end, everyone on the bus loved her!! The food provided was excellent, the war museum an unexpected highlight, the pubs were a hoot and as for the fossiking... well, I won't be giving up my city job any day soon 😆. This is a great, informative fun day trip. Don't miss it!!

We had an excellent day!! Nat was a great guide, funny and entertaining. Though we had been out to Glengarry Hilton the day prior digging, it didn't matter to us because we were able to learn so many interesting facts we wouldn't have known otherwise...it made it feel like a whole new adventure. Loved it all!

Really worthwhile tour such a great day very informative, so good to sit back in the comfort of a mini bus driven by Nat who was very friendly and her knowledge of all things opal mining was great . Nice not to have to take our own vehicle & to go with someone who new the area is so much easier the 3 bush pubs , fossicking and history along with morning tea and lunch made for a great way to experience some of what Lightening Ridge has to offer.

Did the all day tour today with Nat. What a sensational day. Definitely one of the best tours we have ever done. Nat’s knowledge and her ability to share that with some humour mixed in, just made it the best day
