BIG4 Opal Holiday Park

pleasure to stay here. both camp kitchens well appointed. usually prefer showgrounds or free camps but if you had to design a caravan park this would be it. easy on the driver , quick through the office , plenty of washing machines. amenities block very good

Agree with the other positive reviews! Staff were excellent and very accommodating of my particular questions re best site for noise and light!! Also they had a loan drill to drive in your tent pegs which was necessary. Camp kitchen and overall facilities were great which contributed to our great time in The Ridge! Will return :)

Such an amazing Big 4 at Lightening Ridge. Cabins and facilities were clean and well maintained. Staff were friendly and very helpful.They even had a wash bay for vehicles. Highly recommend this Big 4 for your stay.

Quiet, Friendly atmosphere, welcoming services.
Pet friendly $10 half day or $20for full days. Cost could change in future. Our dates 16/5 to 21/5/24. Highly recommended. Clean toilets showers and laundry. Beautiful grounds. Some great entertainment. Walking distance to the mineral baths very HOT.

Great park, staff are extremely helpful, friendly and informative, very short walk to the artesian hot springs baths. Amenities are large, very clean and well maintained, it is also just generally very well set out, the pool isn't very large but was never busy enough to be an issue when we were there. Really close to the centre of town too. Pet friendly sites and cabins.

Fantastic park all levels large drive through sites. Quiet location on the edge of town but still close enough to walk or ride. Great pool area with undercover kitchen all amenities nice and clean. will definitely return and highly recommend a stay ..

Centrally located with easy access to all tourist hot spots. We stayed here during the Christmas period with the kids. We loved playing in the pool, fossicking down in the back section of the park where the boys found real opals. The room villa 28 was a comfortable space for our family. The park manager went above and beyond to ensure all our needs were catered for during our stay. Thanks guys we appreciate your recommendations for local attractions and your outstanding customer service.

Great park in walking distance to the artesian baths. Caravan sites are drive through and large. No lining up for toilets or showers as there are plenty in the amenities block. Great little fossicking area for the kids down the back of the park. Highly recommended.

All amenities are very clean and modern, with special touches such as shower screens, shelving, and numerous hooks. The powered sites are flat, spacious, and easy to park vehicles on. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to family and friends.

Lizzie at reception greeted me a great 😃 smile and very prompt with her experience and directions of the park facilities. Only stayed 2 nights in the Pandora cabin. The cabin was very clean, beds comfy, kitchen clean and bathroom small and clean. Very happy 😊. Enjoy my stay. The Bore baths were great as usual. Thanks for making my stay comfortable. Will visit again soon and recommend to my family and friends. 😇😊

One of the best camp sites. The nicest, most accomodating staff, toilet/shower blocks super clean and well maintained and the pool is a massive bonus. Came for a 1 night stop over and stayed for 3.

We enjoyed our stay so much. Never before have I been to a tourist park where they actually have shower screens in the amenities ( a huge tick from my husband). So close to everything, and even closer to the artesian baths. From the amenities, the camp kitchens, to the pool and even the position of the dump point, this is one of the better tourist parks we have visited.

Loved our stay here. Initially our on a spot that had no shade for camper trailer but they were happy to relocate us. We chose to have a private enquire suite. A bit of a luxury. Made good use of the pool. Great meeting spot to make me transient friends. Artesian Hot Spring 500 m up the road. Close to the main town and other attractions

We have stayed at many Big 4 holiday camps, but I can genuinely say this has to be one of the most well presented campsites we have stayed in. It was immaculately clean, all sites were gravel and drive through. There was a camp kitchen set in an oasis of green and a welcome pool. My husband was so pleased to find a campsite which offered a washdown concrete slab for the very dirty MH and tow vehicle.
The only negative, which for us was not a problem as it was way too hot to sit outside, 42'C+, was that we could not secure our awning ropes into the rock even with steel pegs and a drill.
Big 4 Lightning Ridge, you nailed it as a campsite, and there are so many that could learn some valuable lessons from you.

After travelling Australia for 15 months, we can honestly say this is one of the nicest parks we have stayed in.
Well laid out park with fabulous large sites, great camp kitchen and pool, spotless clean amenities, friendly efficient staff.
Within walking distance to the beautiful Artesian Bore Bath.

This place is top shelf!!! They provide everything!!! As a traveller with a dog, trying to stay somewhere is hard at times. But Opal goes above and beyond. We booked a "PET FRIENDLY' fully contained cabin. Sasha was able to join us humans with 2 full days of air-conditioned luxury during a nasty heat wave. They even have a doggy day care program for a small fee if you go out for the day! We even got picked up and dropped back to our cabin by a free shuttle service from the Lighting Ridge bowling club!

Spacious cabin with everything you need. Bed large and comfortable. Kitchen well equipped. Park close to artesian bore baths.

Best place to stay in Lightning Ridge. We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin which was perfect. Lots of room with everything you need for a few days or more. Everything in the caravan park is spotless. Lots of space, very quiet and a lovely pool to cool down in.
