Smith's Pies

Driving into a light industrial area looking for pies with low expectations and it turns out to be one of best & most generous scallop pie I had in Australia. The shop sell their pies through the window and sell family size pie where you can take home and bake yourself too. Worth the trip here.

Came straight from the airport for the scallop pies and ended up so satisfied. Just go for the curry scallop pie! Service is good as well. My personal rating for this place is 4.5/5

Located in a warehouse district where you would never normally find a pie shop. BUT they serve a large selection of pies that are all great. The curried scallop pie was super delicious and there was plenty of scallop. Even the steak and mushroom pie had amazing gravy. If your in the area, worth a visit. I do believe they are also at Salamanca Markets

Without a doubt, the best scallop pie in Tasmania. We tried the chunky steak, curry chicken and Camembert chicken as well - ALL amazing. Well priced too, at $5 for the majority of pies and $8 for the scallop. Delicious. Great service. Worth seeking out while you’re here.

After having a Scallop pie in Salamanca, it was the last day in Hobart so had to head to Smiths Family Kitchen for literally the best pie I have ever eaten. Its a pity its hard to get in Melbourne but wow what a pie. This folks is a award winning pie and doesn't get better than that.

Delicious but make sure to come early otherwise they can run out of pies quite quickly given how popular this place is

Hands down the best. Tried this at Salamanca Market and it made my day. Scallops were huge and had about 5-6 inside.

Managed to try the famous Smith's Scallop Pie at the Salamanca Market. The pie is delicious with a creamy filling and loaded with scallops.

First time I've ever had scollap pie as I heard they are a must try in Tasmania. They were so delicious I bought an extra 8 to take with me back to Sydney! The pies are loaded with fresh tasmanian scollaps and a hint of curry. Delicious!

The scallop pies at Smith's Family Kitchen are well worth the detour. We stopped by here on our way back from Richmond and got one of the fresh hot piping scallop pies and ate it in our car. The pie and the filling are both amazingly delicious with a slight hint of curry seasoning. I highly recommend giving this place a visit if you're ever in the Hobart area.

Hands down got to be the best scallop pies in Tassie. Woman at the counter asked us if we’d had one there before, said no, ‘you’re gonna enjoy it’. Went back for a second one.

Incredibly helpful and friendly. We bought a sausage roll and a Mornay Scallop and Prawn pie. Both were really good.

We tried a scallop pie at the Salamanca markets and then stopped at their shop on the way to the airport to eat another one! The scallop pies are super nice and special. A must try!!

Came on our way to Hobart airport but it is closed and its only *re-opening on 8th January*. So sad we couldn’t try its famous scallop pie :(
