Located right at the corner of a cross junction. Parking available along the street. The cafe is in original building that has been around since 1831
Retro, welcoming vibe. All the staff are very welcoming and friendly. There are few different indoor seating rooms & outdoor seating available.
Scones were fresh and delicious. Big breakfast portion is generous & good. Chocolate croissant is yummy and not too sweet.
Good coffee.

Surprised at how fast the service was. Scallop Linguine wasn't 'fishy' as I'd feared but a pleasant experience (flavours of capsicum, garlic and coriander were prominent), and paired remarkably well with Lavender Green tea.
The Russian Honey cake blew me away. I'm now a big fan.

Only downside is there's only one shared toilet, not wheel chair friendly, and the pump hand soap was mostly water.

Lovely country tea fare in a cosy traditional cottage. Very busy at the weekends, but with efficient and friendly service. Great scones, nice chips, and leaf tea served in vintage silverware and china .

This is a beautiful and quaint cafe in the iconic town of Richmond. Go for the scone and tea set. The scones were delicious with fresh cream and raspberry jam. Paired well with a Russian caravan tea. Lovely garden out the back.

This has become our new favourite brunch spot. We come to Czegs with our fur baby , and he absolutely loves the attention he gets from the staff. The lovely lady with blonde hair who works kn Sunday always ensures we have enough water in the bowl .

Food is great , and there is a huge variety of pastries , cakes and coffee to chose from . The atmosphere both inside and outside is so welcoming and vintage( high tea vibes ) . Highly recommend .
The bill usually is around $60-70 for two adult brunches with coffee and sides for the fur baby .

This Honey Cake Slice makes me dream of St Petersburg - Everything is perfect except too many flies in the room. Would recommend.

Generally worth to experience, although it is a fast paced service as the place is busy thus you’d feel rush rather than welcomed not too bad but service could be better knowing the restaurant looks like it has a touch of someone who treasures a home, someone who cares about his/her guest.

Food was great and enjoyed it 👌

Easy to find 👍

A delightful garden cafè where you can find relaxation amongst the melody of the roses and enjoy some much needed caffeine. Took my dog along who enjoyed the garden area.

Czeg’s Richmond is one of the most old classy cafe. All the things in the cafe takes you back to the early 90’s period. The atmosphere is lovely, customer service is exceptional. The food is delicious, the chef have got some magic for sure. Lots of street parking. I personally do think menu is a bit overpriced compared to the market but having said that, i am happy to pay a bit extra when the food quality and standards are so good.

What a gem of a little spot for morning or afternoon tea. Old fashioned in decoration, but not stuffy.

Lovely selection of pastries and nice coffee.

Lovely dinning place, located on the main road. It has tables in garden as well, would be very nice on sunny days.

Pros: unique decoration - silverwares, friendly staff, dishes are well presented and nice as well.

Cons: just a little thing - if the two dishes were a bit warmer, it would be excellent.

Overall, I would come back again.

What a lovely little gem. Definitely worth visiting, especially on a drive up to the east coast or Launceston from Hobart. Their Honey Cake is delicious and perfectly paired with homemade vanilla cream. Scones are scrumptious too!
Friendly staff. Love The decor too - quaint.

They serve cooked breakfast & lunch too!

The Russian Honey Cake is awesome. AWE. SOME. Sweet but not cloying. Very refreshing. The scone is very well balanced in taste. The clotted cream is light, the jam is oh-my-goodness. You have to try it yourself. Very glad we stopped in for tea.

Czeg's Cafe. Great local style cafe with beautiful interior and famous Russian style honey cake. The Russian honey cake is must try menu. Sweet and rich honey flavor. There are a range of tables you can choose from sunny outside seats, back side garden, side of the building, sunny window side indoor with beautiful interior. Next time, I also want to try chocolate vegan cake.

My husband loves Devonshire Tea & scones . These are THE BEST he has ever had .
I thought they were pretty nice too !
They make their on jam , cream is freshly made with vanilla beans .
The scones are perfection .
The service is friendly .
We met with the owner as she was serving guests .
She is wonderfully friendly too …
Overall perfection …. Beautiful clean welcoming feel to the tea house …
Bonus she loves animals and was excited to feed my left over scone ( I’m a small eater ) ( husband had no crumbs for them ) to the birds outside our window ….
She crushed it up for them and left it by their hedge …
Very cute and thoughtful .

A must visit .

During our family trip to Richmond TAS in April 2023, we stumbled upon a hidden gem called Czeg's Cafe, and it turned out to be a delightful surprise. From the moment we stepped inside, we knew we had found a special place.

First and foremost, the coffee and breakfast offerings at Czeg's Cafe were absolutely fantastic.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Claire for making our experience at Czeg's Cafe truly unforgettable. She went above and beyond to ensure our visit was enjoyable, taking the time to chat with our daughters and make them feel special. It was evident that Claire's hospitable conversations were not just part of her job, but a reflection of her kind and caring nature. Czeg's Cafe is truly blessed to have someone like Claire as part of their team. Her bravery in forging connections and creating a welcoming environment sets an example for others to follow.
