The founder and partner took about 3 years to do the research, trying to establish the modes as real as possible. The receptionist guy was friendly and kind. Although the place was just not that huge, fee price a little bit high. It still worths to be visited. I went to there alone and I am a foreigner, but they still treat me normally. They also had maintained everything so well.

Lovely miniature replica up there with others I have visited like Cockington Green and Abingdon Village. Well laid out with small signs to explain each setting. Could do with some maintenance in some areas. Really does help to put you in the time period being emphasised. Great for school trips I would imagine 🏚

We loved Hobart and the surrounding areas. It has quite a charm and a mixture of cities around the world. People are quite friendly in the Salamanca Market and love to have a conversation. Be ready to try different foods and also good cold ginger beer. Also lots of hand made crafts. Explore the town.

Enjoyable visit to Old Hobart Town!
Excellent workmanship in the scale build of Old Hobart Town. Take your time and look at all the amazing detail, there is so much hidden humour in the placement of the figurines, all telling little stories
For a family of three it was $40 which was ok
We went January 2024 and was advised that the place is actually up for sale so who knows if it was continue in the future ….

I love this concept of trying to portrait the history of the town, its people and their settlement. I thoroughly enjoyed as if i was watching a short movie. Don’t forget to check out the information board with a question to find some people in the model. If possible, my recommendation in the future would be to upgrade it with some sound effects and live motion. This would make it more enjoyable.

We loved the old Hobart town replica
The detailing is impeccable. The expressions, the buildings, the real bonsai trees to replicate the full size trees

It's an absolute treat and a must visit!

Very cute and has action scenes of the real brutality and day to day life of Hobart in days gone by! Also saw some interesting birds.

Really lovely quaint village. Been here twice. Enjoyed some watercolour painting of the stone bridge. Very therapeutic.
Enjoyed exploring the shops, crafts and Galleries. Bit odd seeing Highland cattle and silver fern souvenirs (?)
Sad to witness shop lifting in a wonderful clothing shop off the main street. To that thieving young woman. Shame on you.

This place is worth the visit, enjoyed the miniature town and all the great figurines. Spent a couple of hours here, because after reading the plaques you then spend time looking at the building replicas and the laugh at some of the funny poses of the figurines. Great work! Worth the visit..

Old Hobart Town is the manifestation of 30 years of labour and love. Painstakingly hand crafted, each clay character has a story, every building is researched. Thank you Andrew, for sharing your knowledge. You are most generous. Hunting for the 4 hidden toons was like where's wally in real life. 3 out of 4 today. I'll look for the snake lady on my next visit! Keep well, stay safe.

Old Hobart Town is clearly a labour of love and well worth a visit. Coincidentally, we are staying close to the part of Hobart which Old Hobart Town is based on … what a wonderful history lesson! The model town included items which surely keep children happy too .. find the Tasmanian tigers, the woman killing a snake, a boy falling out of a tree, etc. The proprietor is very friendly and happy to spend time explaining about the history of old Hobart town (the actual place and the model).. thoroughly enjoyable morning.

Such a cute little place which is maintained extremely well. Kids had so much fun trying to find the little figurines to solve the puzzles!
The location is also beautiful and worth spending some time exploring the historic streets.

See old Hobart from a different perspective. We met the owner who was lovely and explained how he spent 3 years building the town that represented Hobart in 1820. The miniature models were accompanied with signs that explained the history of different part of Hobart. The whole thing took about 20-30 mins for our family to go through. A small gift shop is featured at the front and there are toilets available as well. Price was fair for the whole family
