Best Thai food in Cairns!
Family run business that has authentic Thai food that is simply delicious! Having lived in Thailand for 3 years, it’s so good to find Ped and her family, who cook a huge range of dishes with generous portions and great prices! I’ve been a regular customer for the last 8 years since I moved to Cairns and cannot believe that I have not posted a review earlier! Must visit for the cairns city centre, with tables out on the street or tables in the aircon inside for dining in or takeaway available.

It's totally my taste. Just too much. Since at first I think rice is not a big dish, but their rice is too much, very enough for even two guys.

Loved this place. Food came out quickly, piping hot and was delicious. Also, for them centre of Cairns, cheap in comparison to other small local restaurants (who charge $25 per plate in average). Important to note portion size: absolutely huge. We shared one rice dish, main and salad and struggled to finish. I would happily eat here everytime I come to Cairns, it really is that good. Total meal cost: $66 inclusive of food plus a beer each. Thanks!

The favourite Thai place to go in Cairns.. Big portions worth your time and money. Friendly service. Walking distance from main Shopping centre. First time taking my daughter she' really enjoyed her lunch Crispy pork with soup and Rice 🍚

Loved the authentic thai taste. The price is good for the portion and flavours you get. The pork rice had to be the best dish there. Fulfilling and full of flavour 🤤 definitely going back again. They've range of mouthwatering food, gotta try them all.

Great value for money, big portions, some of the best coconut rice I've had and staff can point out plenty of gluten free options.

Cheap and delicious! Large portions and Very good value. Have been here many times. Highly recommend the garlic pork, crispy chicken with rice and seafood yum salad. It is the best Thai restaurant in Cairns for me.

A great place to have some lovely Thai food in Cairns. Although the decor and ambience left a little to be desired, the food was outstanding. Quite large servings of very delectable and highly flavoured food was delivered to our table. From where I was sitting I also noted that all of the kitchen staff were wearing hair nets (which is not something you see very often in Cairns restaurants) and this alleviated any concerns I had about food hygiene. If your priority is the food, and you're happy for the ambience to take a back seat, I thoroughly recommend locals and visitors alike try out this establishment.

Love, love the hearty portions. We ordered pad see ew, yum woon sen, garlic pork with rice and dry curry beef rice. Alls good except that the dry curry wasnt up my alley , it was kind bland but nth a lil chilli fish sauce can't fix! Will def be back again!

OmG if I could put 10 stars I would! And I m a good cook and fussy eater! All is unbelievable! The food, the flavor, the freshness, the service , the price....it's a high quality work that should be rewarded...🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 All what we ordered was amazing! And the staff kindness and attitude.....the best restaurant we tried in cairns and wish it was in our neighborhood in gold coast!! Keep on the good work guys ! You are rocking it !

Such a great Thai restaurant ! I first got takeaway on New Year’s Eve and had the chicken pad see ew and the fried rice with fried chicken on top. Plus a Thai iced milk tea. (Part of the reason i tried this place is because they have Thai iced milk tea. Some Thai places in cairns don’t have it !) Look at the portions in the picture ! So much food I had so much leftover for the next day. The price is so good for the quality and amount of food you get. I went back to eat in at the restaurant and got the beef pad see ew and Thai lemon tea. I’m not the biggest fan of the Thai lemon tea flavour but that’s just my personal preference. I wanted to try something new. Should’ve stuck to the Thai iced milk tea because it’s so good here ! The service was quick and friendly. I really like the flavour, it’s not too salty and such a great portion size. Definitely a must try when in cairns ! To the restaurant, please never change ! You’re doing everything so great!

Highly recommended. Great pricing. Tried this place multiple times. BIG serves. (Check out the SIZE of the takeaway containers). Tasty. Wow!

When in Cairns, of course it has to be Phetyai Thai!! Always come back for comfort food. Thai food ☺☺ P’Phet and staff here are very nice and friendly.

What an amazing place. It’s not “cheap”! It’s perfect with very delicious food. This is how I remember the Thai food. Love the warmth of staffs and love how they care about each and every servings. Must must visit if you are here.

Best Asian restaurant in Cairns city so far. Generous portions and good price. The flavours is also great!

It's an absolute gem of a Thai place! I am so happy I found this one. The food was totally delicious and the portions were huge! The price is so reasonable that I daresay this is perhaps the Thai place in Australia which offers the best value for money! I have never seen another thai restaurant that offers free rice with the curry. I don't know whether it was something common in Cairns but I was very positively surprised. All other places would ask for an extra 5$ for that much rice. We ordered one curry, one stir fried fish, one fried rice, coconut rice and fried chicken wings and we paid only 57$. The fried chicken was probably the only thing we didn't like as much.
Their customer care may have shown some space for improvement, as it wasn't easy to get their attention, but hey for such great food at such an amazing price, I don't mind a little lack of attention, I understand they perhaps were a little understaffed.

Highly recommended. Very yummy !! Can request spicy level. I love Phetyai so much! You guys should try 👍🏻
