St Flannan's Catholic Church

St. Flannan's Catholic Church is situated on the very busy Handford Road, Zillmere. And since it's a low-set building, it's difficult to see it while you're driving unless you're actually looking out for it.

I don't know how it's laid out, but it has the happy result of having the parishioners close to the alter wherever they are seated.

It's very up to date in terms of technology. All around the church there are screens hanging from the ceiling displaying whatever is necessary for the particular service. In this case we were attending a funeral and could follow on the screen the life of the deceased.

Also, while there was no choir, there's a small room with microphones etc., so that one singer can lead the rest of the congregation in the various hymns.

There's some beautiful iconic holy pictures around the walls, and there's even fold away steps for those parishioners who want to kneel down.

The parish priest who celebrated the mass presented a very moving and dignified service which included the Holy Eucharist.

When carrying the coffin from the church to the waiting car, instead of placing the coffin on their shoulders, the men carried it by the handles on the coffin. I felt it was a move in the right direction. I'm always anxious when I watch the men going down the stairs and looking a bit unsteady. It didn't happen this time.

Lovely place to attend mass. The priest is nice & friendly. Volunteers are helpful. If go to 5pm mass tea & coffee are supplied & very 4th Sunday night a light meal could be supplied. There not pushy either very friendly people.

St Flannans is a beautiful,peaceful church and the multicultural parishioners are very friendly

Because father Raphael is inviting and I like the Sunday services despite the choir as the lead vocalist sings everything and has changed a few of what I have grown up knowing as a youngster

Much work has been done to the church looks and feels fantastic priest a hard worker who has done a lot to modernize the church and make it very welcoming

Great place of worship with Fr Rafael as the Parish priest who has done wonderful things at St.Flannan's.

I love this school. The principle and the teachers are so caring. I have been studying there for 3 years. Its the best.

Catholic church. 5 pm Sunday evening mass. Attached to the school. One of the few churches suffering Sunday evening mass in this area. Friendly priest and people.

Busy outside, peaceful inside. A great place to pray
