I found the QEI to be a positive experience. The professionalism of the staff, is a credit to the business. The process is smooth and informative. Dr Gunn is very friendly, understanding, gives full disclosure of procedures and he just wants to get it right for his patients. His happy disposition is engaging and calm. I also had the pleasure of being seen by Carmen as his assistant and she was amazing! Oh my eyesight is great - thanks.

The whole procedure from the reception desk to the clinic, to the final handshake with Dr Gunn has been excellent. Throughout the whole process the staff has been courteous, helpful and patient. The result having a very strong prescription for my glasses to post surgery 20 - 20 vision, has been a great experience, and I thank Dr Gunn for this new visual experience.

I recently had age-related cataract operations performed by David Gunn on both my eyes and am happy to report now, five weeks later, that both operations were a great success and I am complication free. There was no pain involved. I am amazed at how well I once again can see. The entire process, from the first consultation at the practice to the final discharge went without a hitch and with minimal delay, and I was treated with kindness and consideration throughout. Dr Gunn's practice is extremely well run, and in my opinion his services cannot recommended highly enough.

Dr Gunn was recommended to me by a few for cataract surgery on both eyes. Wonderful service, I highly recommend Dr Gunn and all the staff at both QEI locations. Dr Gunn and the whole team could not be more professional and accommodating. I had very tight time constraint and therefore requested quick surgery dates and follow ups . Not only were all my time requests met , but the surgery itself, at the expert hands of Dr Gunn has been nothing short of miraculous. I write this without aids for the first time in 57 yrs. Dr David Gunn and his team are exceptional! Since a very young age I have had problems with my sight. After Dr Gunn performed a number of necessary procedures, my sight has never been better. Nothing was too much trouble and Dr Gunn and his team always conducted themselves in a very courteous and professional manner. I recently had cataract surgery, and some follow up treatment by Dr Gunn. The whole process was explained well and ran smoothly. Dr Gunn and his staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend him.

Dr David Gunn did my cataract surgery which was complicated due to having Fuchs Dystrophy, the operation was very successful without causing any problems to the existing Fuchs Dystrophy. The staff at QEI were all very friendly and the facilities were immaculate. Would highly recommend coming here.

I had recent cataract surgery on both eyes. Prior to surgery I received a comprehensive written and verbal explanation regarding the procedure, expected outcomes and risks. Even though the risks are minimal, they are there. The treatment was very professional and friendly. The outcome exceeded my expectations.
I was informed that I will still need reading glasses, but I can manage well without them. Distance vision is extremely good. I would recommend Dr Gunn at any time.

I had lens implants in both eyes and I’m very happy with the results. David recommended mono vision lenses to suit my lifestyle. David and his team are friendly, professional, knowledgeable and efficient. If for some reason you have a few months wait to see him, he’s worthwhile waiting to see.

Started off very apprehensive I mean it's your eyes and you thinking I could go blind. Dr Gunn and his team were excellent in reassuring me about the procedure. I cannot recommend Dr David Gunn more highly. I had my Pterygiums on both eyes done prior to Cateract Surgery with Lens Replacement. Best money I have ever spent. No regrets, I now have near perfect vision. This is coming after wearing coke bottle thick glasses, thinned down by seven, tri-vocals for most of my life. I wanted to be glasses free & now I am. Dr Gunns beside manner is impeccable, he genuinely cares about his patients, their lives & circumstances, as well as the procedures he performs. My Husband went through a quadruple bypass after suffering a severe heart attack & through this time, having to postpone my second Surgeries ( Lens Replacement ) I found Dr Gunn to be so very supportive of my circumstances. I also suffer severe Anxiety. I went through the first Surgery ( Pterygium ) highly anxious, but he made sure 100 % that I was doing well, before, after & post op that I was doing well. The last appointment he still asked “ How I was doing ? “ & told me he had checked each time to see how I’d come through. Now that’s genuine concern & empathy for his patients. I breezed through the last three ops like a pro because of him, the nurses, anesthetist’s the hospital, I cannot fault the whole experience. Dr David Gunn is someone I will always be Grateful for & I am so glad he was my Surgeon. If your thinking of getting Surgery I 110 % recommend Queensland Eye Institute & my Surgeon Dr David Gunn.
