Blue Car Door Tour

Not a long drive ,it takes you to the Opal Mine Adventure walk in mine you can fossick there for$5 or go down into the mine for $20 it is dog friendly also

Walk in mine, Bevan’s cactus nursery and glimpses of off grid dwellings on the edges of the Ridge. I’m possibly just ‘promoting’ here, rather than reviewing, because I’m falling in love with so much about this place 💕

Was a really short tour (if you don't stop) but we chose to do this as was running out of time. We did stop at Bevan's Cactus Garden which was pretty spectacular. Friendly people there and we stayed maybe a good 30-40min taking photos and speaking to the owners.

This is a good tour, easy to drive.

Great variety of cacti. Well worth a look around the gardens.🏜

plenty to see on this self drive tour

We did the Self guided route start of May 2021, it was nice to do at our pace plus helping the information center with $1 for map. Even though we may of went the wrong way a few times.
We drive a Kia carnival around and handle it well, but the next day same route wasn't good as it had rained. We where lucky.
Make sure you do get out and have look around at open cut mine, old mining equipment, the ridge is quirky, interesting and a lot of history.

The shortest and probably least impressive of the car door tours.
Still worth a look!

Only did the beginning. Ate at Thai restaurant. Only on Friday and Saturday lunch.

Do this one first

Would not bother wasting your time and money. $20 per adult for an unguided and uninformative mine was disappointing.

The road is terrible. Do not consider without a four wheel drive.
