Opal Cave

Oh this place is great! We went back twice and we did buy some really nice jewellery. The service was helpful and the range is great. The prices here was very good compared to the other opal stores. We probably spent way more than we should! Highly recommended.

Today, my family and I had a delightful shopping experience at the Opal Cave, where we felt warmly welcomed. The attentive service, including answering all our questions, prompted me to make significant purchases, allowing us to bring a piece of Lightning Ridge home with us.

Put this on your list of stops in Lightning Ridge. Herman and Sandy and the girls are such lovely folks. Great display of all things opal related. You can buy some beautiful pieces here and have a nice chat about the town. If you're a souvenir collector then we can recommend you pick up an Aussie Boot stubbie cooler here as a keepsake from your trip.
((Don't forget to visit the John Murray art gallery too, it's something special. You can see lots of John's art around town, and even the Moonie Roadhouse has a great mural that John painted (we recommend then highly too). ))

Nice collection of boulder opal pieces and some stunning pieces made from very large opal specimens. Don't drive on by, make sure you stop at the Opal Cave :)

Travelled to Lightning Ridge to buy an opal engagement ring and the lovely girl here did not let me down. The young lady on the Sunday morning was great and so helpful. I found my dream ring. I look forward to coming back in July! If you are looking for beautiful people and jewellery and fantastic people look no further than The Opal cave! You will not be disappointed!

Such an awesome shop! Pauline was super helpful and great customer service. We ended up have a chat for half an hour about our home town which we shared and the love for Lightning Ridge. She knew a great deal about Opals and helped us choose the perfect one for my wife. Will visit every time we go back. Thanks again.

9 July 22 - Wonderful experience! Jolita, in particular was extremely helpful, I was there for quite some time, deciding on options. A great vibe, with an interesting setting, and Herman's sense of humour is an added bonus. Thank you SO much. I'm tremendously happy with my purchases! Highly recommended.

We went back three days in a row during our stay, once just to say goodbye. The staff here are knowledgeable and have your well-being and enjoyment of the jewel in mind, as well as the lowest prices in town. They are so welcoming and we would definitely recommend purchasing your opals from Herman and Christi.

The selection of opals was great. The labelling as to type and origin was honest and easy to understand. The lady who served us (Pauline) was very friendly and helpful, there was no sales-pitch or pushiness, just helpful and informative service.
We'd recommend the Opal Cave to anyone.

the people here are so nice! they are truly authentic and have been living in the town since they were born. The art on the walls by lightning ridge‘s local artist, John Murray, truly solidifies how community centred this town is. The Opal Cave is a hub.

Staff spent a great deal of time with us to ensure we purchased just the right stone. This included FaceTime to Melbourne so our daughter could by the stones she wanted too.

Updated review: Opal Cave has been amazing to work with in getting my ring fixed! Super nice and helpful! Old review: I bought a ring here 2 days ago, and It could've been a one off, but my opal stone fell off the ring today. This place had great service, and the ring looked beautiful, but the cost to get it repaired might be as much as a new ring.

If you go in here you'll probably walk out with an opal if you're susceptible to pushy sales staff. We prefer to take our time and enjoy looking at the pieces so went elsewhere to buy our opals in peace without being pressured.

Was in your store today and we were made to feel most uncomfortable. The fact that the staff barely acknowledged us and then when they did they giggled and snigged was so rude. One piece of advice ladies is you never know how much someone may have to spend and now you never will
