The Islander Estate Vineyards - Kangaroo Island Wines

We had a tremendously relaxing time at The Islander Estate today 23/5! We loved laying on rugs in the sunshine, watching the clouds, sipping delicious wine & eating cheese. Jodie was so knowledgeable, accommodating, and down to earth. What I like about this cellardoor is the fact the wine tasting experience comes to you if you're outside. Thank you for the best experience. This is how it should be done!

My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful wine tasting experience this afternoon with the lovely Jodie. We were warmly welcomed and received a lot of interesting info on the wines tasted. We now look forward to having a private sip of our Islander wines purchased😎

Our experience at the Islander estate vineyards was fantastic. It’s a boutique cellar door surrounded by classic Australian bushland. Carmen was very knowledgeable about the wines and provided exceptional service. The wine was wonderful and we also enjoyed our platter of Australian produce with a French touch. Would highly recommend to everyone visiting Kangaroo Island.

A beautiful winery with a warm atmosphere. Excellent hospitality from the staff, of particular note, Carmen was very accommodating. Told us a story behind each wine, making it very engaging. Not to mention the wine was delicious!

Super friendly and personalised tasting. It’s a smaller cellar door but definitely worth a visit. You can build your own basket of local foods to pair with your wine 🍷 great!

Adore visiting the Islander Estate on Kangaroo Island. We are wine club members and every time we have visited Jodie has been a wealth of knowledge, super friendly and made the experience the highlight of our day (along with the absolute quality of wine!) highly recommend visiting!

A fabulous experience of wine and hospitality! Thank you Carmen for sharing the story of ‘The Islander Estate Vineyards. A ‘must’ visit to sample quality KI wines, engaging service and scrumptious platter options.

Was there with a group of 4. Sat outside on the deck and enjoyed the premium $30 tasting. Liked how they had a selection of grazing food so you could arrange your own nibbles. On offer were crackers, cheese, salami, olives, etc. Staff were very welcoming and friendly, and although they were scheduled to close at 5pm, we ended up leaving after 6pm, and we didn't feel rushed. They also offered to help with locating a missing phone which we thought was left at the Bee Farm up the road, they called them and others they knew for us, referring to the "Kangaroo Island Grapevine". (The phone was later discovered in my husband's pocket). Overall a lovely spot to visit.

Carmen was a really beautiful bright lady who explained every single wine testing to us, very patient with my slow drinking speed 😅 she was welcoming my little Coco into a special decked area. She brought a fresh water bowl for my fur baby. Lovely wine 🍷 and fantastic service!!! We become a member as well so we will receive bottles in a scheduled manner. I could not say goodbye to Carmen when I left as I didn’t want to interrupt her new customer and busy to follow Coco running out door area. Thank you for your amazing caring and love Carmen. Hope to see you again in future. 🩷

By far tenets wines we tried on the island. Venue was really nice. Made and paid for a booking online but they couldn’t find it and you could only select a day to visit on the booking sheet - not a time so would recommend just calling. Overall great experience and reasonable size of tasting list for the price. Definitely worth a visit

Hands down the best wine on Kangaroo Island. The cellar door is situated in Cygnet River and is open daily except for Wednesdays 12 - 5pm. Recognized by Australian Gourmet Traveller as Australia's Best Cellar Door and tasting experience in May 2021 it's definitely well worth a visit. Sadly, on January 10th 2020 their vineyards were completely burnt down however with the quick thinking of the owners, staff and locals they managed to save their wine bottles, barrels and tanks and can now continue selling their outstanding range. Please go and support Islander Estate by visiting their cellar door, purchase your favourite wines and share the love. Enjoy!

We stopped in just to kill some time before our flight. We had the lovely Carmen as our host. She was amazing and very detailed on the wines, showed she truly enjoyed them and her role there. We had a tasting session, was very nice, saw a koala in the tree near by. If you want a nice chill out spot and try some very nice wines would highly recommend this quiet little spot.

My husband and I really enjoyed our wine tasting with Carmen. Best wine tasting experience so far on our trip to SA and enjoyed some beautiful wines. Thank you!

What a wonderful afternoon spent at this delicious cellar door, wonderful tastings and lovely cheese board, great views and fabulous wines all delivered by the perfect hostess (Jackie) who has an absolutely amazing ability to describe the wines to perfection.

I passed through this cellar door on Sunday afternoon and was glad I made the stop. The team is doing a good job managing tastings with COVID restrictions and it was only a short wait before I was seated.
The wines are great and the service from the Italian man and the American man was fantastic. Had to take a bottle of the Sangiovese home with me

The best wine on KI (we went to all of them). Hosts very friendly, welcoming and informative. Had a great time here on numerous occasions during our month's stay on the Island.

A fabulous tasting of the Flag ship range at The Islander estate vineyards. The wines are sensational and Carmen and Sophie are absolute treasures so knowledgeable and accommodating. Highly recommend a visit.
