The tour was amazing! We saw a lot of animals from sea lions to kangaroos, wallabies and koalas, and even an echidna! Luca is very nice and prepared, we learned a ton about Kangaroo Island and Australia in general. He also brought us to many breathtaking spots, beaches, cliffs and woods in the heart of the island. Last but not the least, he cooked for us a very good dinner. Really recommend!

We had the opportunity to experience both a nocturnal and a daily trip with Luca's Kangaroo Island Hire a Guide.
From the way he talks about the island and its wild animals, you can perceive his attachment and passion for both.
Luca is able to catch sight of a great amount of kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, brush tail possums and blue penguins! Without him, for sure we wouldn't have been able to distinguish and discover so many different animals!
We also got lucky enough to see a couple of echidnas, two stone-curlews with their babies and even a small varano!
During the daily trip, we had a couple of moka coffee breaks, accurately prepared in the well-organised trunk, and had a light bbq lunch cooked by Luca in a beautiful spot with Snelling beach view.

Absolute best. Small 4 people tour (5 including our guide Lucas) visiting the best of Kangaroo Island in 9 hours. We saw lots, LOTS of wildlife. Lucas is very experienced and friendly, and clearly loves his job very much. Best lunch (bbq chicken and wine) I've had in days, in the middle of a national park. Worth every cent.

We did the 2 day tour with pickup/dropoff at the ferry. It was excellent. Saw lots of animals in their natural environment (Kangaroos, Koalas, Sea Lions, ...). It was also interesting to see how nature has recovered from the fires. The lunches were excellent.

A truly fantastic experience! I think the best one since our trip to Australia began!...The merit goes to Luca, who conveys the love and respect he feels for this wonderful island and its fantastic 'inhabitants'!...and he is also a very good chef! Our hearts are full of joy at having seen kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, sea lions and fur seals in their habitat. We will take wonderful memories with us! Thank you so much Luca!!!

Luca was amazing. He communicated appropriately and was really courteous. He showed us so much more than the large buses, and he was very knowledgeable. He even was an amazing chef with a very personal lunch. I recommend him for anyone who wants to have a private tour of the island.

Very amazing and interesting tour during which we saw cangaroos, koalas, seals and goanna. We also were lucky to seeing an echidne. Luca's coffee and barbecue are very delicious. He is well prepared and he explained us everything about Kangaroo Island. We absolutely recommend this experience.

We took part to an amazing daily tour with Luca, as our guide. He involved starting from the beginning of the tour till the end. Every detail has been planned accurately to make us happy!

Loved not only the tour but also the storytelling and great conversation we had with our guide, Luca.
We spotted kangaroos, wallabys, opossums, penguins and even a koala!!! All of this under a sky full of stars and a big shiny moon. Cover up, it's chilly at night, but you'll be warm and comfy in the van. Recommended!!

Luca is a very knowledgeable, friendly and enjoyable tour guide. He’s a long term resident of KI, guide, and previous national park staff.

He took us to the standard sites of the sea lion colony at Seal Bay and Admirals Arch and Remarkable Rocks at Flinders Chase national park.

However, because he has a smaller, 4WD Mercedes bus, he could take us to a lot of places off of the main road:
• which is where we saw lots of wildlife, including kangaroos, many koalas, including 2 who were no more than 10-15 feet away and 1 of the most beautiful birds we have ever seen - a blue wren.

• several beautiful and often secluded beaches.

If you’re going on a big tour bus, you’ll never be able to go to those places.

He prepared wonderful BBQ lunches with wine (Luca is Italian after all😀- no worries, he did not touch a drop.)

The cost of AUD$375 (US$225) for a private tour (with no more than 6 people) is well worth it.

2 wonderful days with our "private" guide Lutz: provides a great help to go around getting you at the right place at the right moment. Kangaroo Island hosts many wild animals but it is not a zoo, so don't pretend to see them just strolling around, unless you know well their behavior. The tour also provides the most comfortable ride to the other sightseeing (ie emu bay, remarkable rocks).

Luca showed us the wildest and immaculate parts of kangaroo island, and we explored them with him. He taught us about the island’s animals and the fauna. Definitely highly recommended guide

Yesterday my wife and I went on a full day tour with Luca . We had a great day. We visited some beautiful beaches, saw a lot of animals: sea lions, kangaroos, koalas, wallabies, echidna , pelicans and other species of birds ………impossible to see all those animals without Luca . The tour was well organised, lunch was very good.There also was wine and table cloth. We highly recommend this tour .

Wonderful experience! Luca is a very friendly and experienced guide. He has shown us around all the best spots in the island and he knew where to find all the cutest animals. He has perfectly managed the timing throughout all the day and he has also prepared a delicious BBQ for lunch.
He has even been really kind in helping us solving a logistic issue. 100% suggested!
