Atherton Backpackers at The Grand Hotel

Really friendly helpful staff. Excellent room, at a super cheap price. I got a room there at a moment's notice. The hotel is right in town too.

We stayed as a couple for more than a month here. The hostel is one of the best, if not the best we stayed in our whole life. Never dirty, never loud, never messy. You feel at home with the care of Alma and Hank. We would stay here forever!

Came for 3 nights and stayed for 7. Best hostel I've been to in a long time. The caretakers are absolutely wonderful people who do their best to make sure everyone is comfortable and cared for, really going above and beyond. The owners are friendly and caring as well. Kitchen and rooms are all clean and tidy and the shared space is also nice.

I stayed this place for 3 weeks and everything was awesome! Very kind staff, clean kitchen and toilet. Wifi is limited but can use in the balcony and the kitchen.

Wonderful place to stay in the Tablelands, cozy rooms and clean facilities. Also close to evrtything you need and some of the best hikes around Atherton.

Atherton Backpackers at the Grand Hotel is like a home away from home. From the first moment I met the caretakers Rob and Jenny, I felt so welcomed. These are two of the most kind-hearted people you will ever meet, and I couldn't be more grateful to have had them during my time in Atherton and in my life moving forward.
Granted, it is not a party hostel (P.S. party hostels pretty much don't exist in the tablelands), but it is BETTER than a party hostel. It is a welcoming, clean, friendly place where you will meet interesting, kind and fun people who will end up feeling like family.

Nice staff but it is not a hostel but a hotel. Electricity in the kitchen cut off at 10 p.m., ban on consuming alcohol in the establishment and ban on chatting on the terrace after 10 p.m. otherwise we will come to you to ask you to go to bed. The staff can come to your room to check if you have alcohol and throw it away. No wifi. Kitchen extremely small for the capacity of the backpack and not very well equipped. Otherwise good atmosphere with backpackers, geographically well located, in the city center and reasonable price but not the same prices for everyone.
