Now this place has the best pies in Victoria and the history to go with it. A very wide selection of food and drinks to choose from including delicious handmade sandwiches at your request. Very satisfied. Pictures of the original owners on the wall of an era gone by.

Had a scroll and danish from here and I’m not joking when I say it was the best scroll I’ve ever had. Generous icing on top, soft in the middle and cooked to perfection! They even offer to butter it, too. Do yourself a favour and come here!

Great pastries wide range wraps sandwiches cakes. Tea coffee cold drinks. Plenty seating relaxed atmosphere reasonable prices.

Out of towners visiting for a light meal initially passed this place as there were too many people lining up. We walked around the town and found much of the others closed and almost ghost-like.

We came back and luckily it wasn't too busy. And went straight for their pie offerings. A shepards and two pepper steaks, a sandwiche, and a coffee.

Very nice, and pies are non-processed and light. Worth the visit. Will come again in future.

Fantastic bakery, great pies and sausage rolls and beautiful salad rolls & cakes …it’s our go to stop on holidays as is consistently good. Clean amenities also great.

My husband and I visit Hides Bakery whenever we are in Benalla. Being born in Benalla (although now living in Melbourne) we like to support the local town. We love the pies and pasties. The Bakery has a number of different breads cakes and buns.
It's worth a visit for coffee ☕ and a pie or pastie with sauce.

Lovely bakery with great food. My partner and I got the salmon roll and chicken sandwich and a good selection of bakery sweets, everything was really well made and delicious. Staff were very friendly. They also have a toilet on site.

A wonderful spot to stop along the Hume for lunch. We got our food take away and headed to a local park.

I came through Benalla and had this rare strudel with the original dough, it was almost exactly like my Mom used to make it, except we skimped on the almond slivers. It takes an angry woman to beat this dough, lol, and it is sadly so often substituted with puff pastry. Thank you for this moment of delight. - A German strudel lover. ;)

Tasty pie and a ham roll. Service was good as was the coffee.

I was driving from Bendigo to Canberra and needed second breakfast (yes, I'm a Hobbit).
The toasted raisin bread here is magnificent. It is so light and tasty with some real butter.
The vanilla slice is also magnificent. The custard is a perfect consistency and the passionfruit icing is just as I like it.

Beautiful lunch, but then again, it always is.
