What an outstanding dinner experience. Hats off to the most polite, gentlemanly waiter Angus I have ever met in my life of visiting restaurants across Melbourne and Victoria. Absolute legend! Congratulations young man for treating us like we were royalty from the moment we arrived til the moment we left and congratulations on your outstanding manner and obvious passion for your craft. People should be travelling here just to experience your service. The pub set up was so relaxing and 5 star in its ambience. The food was absolutely superb. Amazing sizes and outstanding value for money. Compliments to the chef. I was so excited to try the sticky date pudding for dessert-I know it would have been amazing too but sadly I was too full with my entree and main and took a rain check. Many thanks to Jane the waitress for her friendliness too. As you can probably imagine I’LL BE BACK! And very soon too!

Great little family run hotel. Had a very enjoyable stay, brilliant food, excellent service and the atmosphere? Jokes, laughter and fun. Such a nice little place to relax.
Will return time and time again. Wayne, Mel and the staff work really hard to ensure the time we spent there was above excellent.

The service was amazing from the moment we walked in. Super attentive staff and clean, comfortable dining area. Our waiter recommended the tempura cauliflower bites and WOW!!! Honestly the best part of the meal. The meal sizes were very generous and the local wine selection was delicious. Thanks for an amazing family experience.

Fabulous location, with wonderful staff. A lovely woman named Lily was there to assist us in our dining experience who provided excellent customer service and was attentive throughout our meal. The bar is beautiful and homey yet spacious and is incredibly clean. 10/10 would come back again. Thank you staff who provided a great experience, we will be back!

What a lovely place for a meal out. The dining staff were so friendly and accommodating - some of the best service that I've ever received in a restaurant. To top it off, the meals were delicious as well!

We booked dinner for Christmas eve, great choice of food and wine on the menu. All of us (4) raved about the quality and quantity of our meals. From the entrees to mains and deserts the meals were perfect. Friendly staff who went out of their way to please. Complements to the kitchen staff. A cosy pub with a great atmosphere. Try the meringue cake its fantastic.

Had a really delicious pub meal with the family here. Steak, calamari and cheeseburgers. Quality meat, lovely staff who were very attentive and kind. Nice easy going atmosphere. Service was fast overall. Would recommend.

The Gliding Club arranged a large group booking for our many visitors from interstate. The booking was well managed and the service was excellent. Each of our group was made to feel special and important, and the food was excellent. Well done Northo.

Wow this place certainly exceeded all expectations! Service was Chefs Hat restaurant equivalent, selection of food was amazing and absolutely delicious! Pulled pork Tacos and Warm beetroot salad would be hard to find better anywhere! Thank you & my dogs loved it as well

Came here for dinner with a group of friends due to track day! Loved it! Totally forgot to take pictures since we were so hungry. We ordered a porterhouse steak and a beer battered barramundi for myself and my partner. Portion sizes were perfect and definitely stuffed! Totally we would come back again!

What an amazing place for dinnner! Absolutely loved our Parma’s and we were served my a very friendly waitress. Well return for another meal next time we are in the Benalla area

Visited the The Northo on a sunday looking for a good lunch feed. The food was super tasty and the staff were great and very accomodating. The atmosphere of the pub is also quite lovely and charming, the decor gives it a very comforting homey feel. Would defintiely reccomend to anyone looking for top-tier pub with nice cold beers, great food and quality atmosphere/service!

Parma was solid, added chilli flakes and jalapenos (thanks Chef). But by far the service was one of the best we've had at country pub. All the staff were well mannered and considerate. Shout out to Angus deserves recognition for his table service and going about and beyond. We'll be back.

Wonderful friendly staff and a pleasure to travel one and a half hours to eat. At this hotel we will be back. Spaghetti was wonderful, but the waitres was a champ

Asked for a recommendation of a good place to eat when we checked in to The Top of the Town Motel. Well this was definitely a great recommendation, from the time we walked in, the service, food and their hospitality was fantastic.

This is by far the best restaurant in Benalla, and in my top 7 regional Victorian restaurants. If you’re following my reviews you already know how meticulous and picky I am with restaurants. This one passed all my criteria including:
• menu and range ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
• staff and hospitality skills ⭐⭐⭐⭐
• cleanliness (my obsession aka “awareness”)⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
• presentation and overall delivery ⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you’re in the Hume region and near Benalla give this place a try, don’t hesitate for a moment.

Had dinner last night meeting friends and family at this central location. Have been a number of times. Service is always friendly and timely. Love the whole feel of the space. Will be back.

Driving from Avalon to Forster I got lazy and stopped after only 300km phoned ahead and arrived an hour later the staff remembered my name showed me my room they had the room heater on before I arrived and quickly got me a drink and above all else had a bit of banter, like a good country pub, should !!!!
it’s only a Tuesday but still a decent crowd shows it’s a good feed all the time I ordered a sirloin steak cooked spot on with very good peppercorn sauce and proper veg with roast potatoes.
Country pubs are dying Breed when people have put the effort in to run them properly. You should use them or we will lose them. This one is worth turning off the highway.
