Ground Zero Cafe

This was an awesome cafe. I ordered bacon and scrambled eggs, which was cooked to perfection. Most cafes serve bacon that seems to have been steamed, but Ground Zero made it with crispy, caramelized fat and tender meat without it being overcooked. The eggs were fluffy and they make all their own bread. People there had travelled distances to buy the coffee, which said a lot. The decor is modern and comfortable with modern music playing in the background. Every member of staff seemed to love their job - giving the place an extra vibe. I'll go out of my way to go here again. I'm not a wheelchair user but it seemed wheelchair friendly, see my other comments.

This morning I visited for the first time ever..

Would like to thank the guy ( he may of been the owner) who offered to carry my two coffee to my car while I had my hands full carrying my 10 week old baby. He even went out of his way to heat up the bottle for me then brought it to the car.

That service is definitely 10/10.
I’ve never had someone like this to offer me help.

To be fair, I was a little sceptical at first, but that was all washed away as soon as our meal came out.
The seating is what you'd expect for an industrial area cafe and the ambience as well, however, this is one of the first times in this area where the waitress actually came with table water without us having to ask! She was sincerely polite and didn't give off any subtle impression that she wasn't enjoying her job.
The coffee was fantastic! They use a very nice creamy caramel bean here and don't serve it scalding hot which can burn the coffee and give it that awful bitter taste.
The food took a while to come out, but it was definitely worth the wait! I had the 1/2 ground zero breakfast. Everything was cooked to perfection! The bacon, tomato and sausage beautifully charred without being overcooked, the spinach and eggs still juicy with flavours, and a nice fresh slice of avocado to tie all the warm rich flavours together.
A very good place for a meet up, or a casual sit down for a refreshing coffee. It's not fast paced, so don't expect to grab and go here, but definitely give it a go when you've got some down time. :)

I just wanted to thank the amazing staff for catering to myself. I had gastric surgery and can only have liquids. This was my first time going out after surgery and l was super anxious but you guys just made me feel so much better. Offered me the chicken and sweet corn soup, blended it and even made sure l could take the rest home. You done an amazing job and will 100% be coming back 😊

Best Coffee on the Bellarine hands down. Had a casual brunch which was delicious and great value for Money. Could not recommend more Highly. Thanks Pat and Grace for your gracious hospitality!!

Ground zero breakfast was very nice. Skinless sausages and bacon were great. Could live without the wilted spinach but one of the perks of being over 60 is no one can make you eat your greens. Coffee was undoubtedly the best we have had since Melbourne. Thank you. They swapped the avocado for mushroom at no charge. Impressive.. Did I mention we don't do green stuff. :-} The wait staff were lovely and it was very nice to see them giving one of the customers mutts a drink of cold water on a stinking hot day We'll be back. I had a function here recently and it was fantastic! Patrick and his team are easy to work with and looked after us amazingly well with perfect food and drinks. The atmosphere of the venue at night is great! Would highly recommend to anyone.

We just moved to Drysdale from Port Melbourne and we were worried our 'lavish' cafe lifestyle wouldn't be the same, lol.
Pat and Grace are awesome, the food is amazing and the coffee superb. Our cafe lifestyle is in good hands 😁😎.

Best cafe in Drysdale by a mile, Coffee is literally spot on every single time never left feeling unsatisfied. Also highly rate the bacon and egg roll as well nothing beats this place so glad I found it as it's taken too long fo Drysdale to get a cafe of this quality.

Great coffee. Actually one of the best we’ve had in Drysdale and Geelong. The girls are really lovely and Pat the owner/chef is always really personable with customers. This is a regular spot for us for breakfast and coffee 😍

Always love going to GZ - great atmosphere and wonderful food. Plenty of options for non-coffee drinkers too - oat chai is a winner for me!

Visited this place today and I found it to be quite a find. The beyond beef burger was messy to eat but super tasty. Just as a burger should be! The coffee was a smooth and mild blend, a great start to the day.
