Bonnies Dog Obedience & Puppy School

Highly recommend! Very knowledgeable about all dog breeds and what makes them tick - Coco has loved her Puppy School and Best Mates courses. Walking her has become so much easier!! Very happy puppy 😊!

Amazing! The change we saw in our puppy after just the first few sessions was crazy. The trainers are friendly and you can tell they are passionate about helping the general public with their dogs. We'll be back with our dog for further training in the future for sure!

My first interaction was on the telephone with Val Bonney. Without paying anything, Val kindly answered a number of preliminary questions I had regarding my pup’s behaviour. Val is excellent and very knowledgeable.
I took our pup to Bonney’s Puppy school. It was an outrageously good experience. Despite my puppy’s rambunctious behaviour, Peter from Bonney’s was very calm and well considered.
I signed up to do the Best Mates course with Heath. A great outcome with my pup able to sit, stand, drop, stay, come, not jump up and desensitised to a variety of objects.

I've just completed their first course Puppy Magic. There is so much to learn, but Peter planned the 4 sessions well and we all got through it, pup's and owns alike! I've tried to implement all of the principles shared with us. Has it made a difference? Some days it really has, and others hhhmmm. The joys of puppy ownership!
I must say that Peter must be Dr Doolittle as he can get a puppy to do stuff instantly. Incredible.
I've just signed up for the next course "Best mates". I'm sure it'll be just as good.

We have taken our dog Molly to Bonnies for over 5 years. Molly was a rescue dog with issues, through Bonnies we have been able to help her live a happier life. She still gets excited every Saturday morning to go to Bonnies. We have been lucky to have been taught with a number of instructors, each bringing years of experience to guide each class.

We cannot rate Bonnies highly enough!

A great training group where my two lab brothers started their training journey and we are reaping the rewards. The whole team were very professional and understanding of our particular needs having two boy siblings and the crazy that could have resulted. Bonnie’s came highly recommended and for good reason. The best investment of time and money you can make is to undertake the Puppy and Best Mates courses to really set yourself up for a positive relationship with your dog/s. Terrific after service also, with options for continuing obedience which helps to reinforce the basics. Particularly impressed with the wisdom of all their staff who are clearly well trained, in love with dogs but also dedicated to doing it right.

We took our dog Obi to the 'Best Mates' 6-week training held in Enoggera. The teacher, Heath, gave us confidence in what we were already doing in our own training at home and taught us a lot as well. I really liked that the training was adapted to the specific dog (and owners) and Heath's energy really made the classes enjoyable.
Obi is a lot better than what he was before the course (or should I say, we're a lot better at knowing how to work with Obi!) and we've already signed him up for the next level course in The Gap.

We highly recommend Bonnie’s! We have just finished puppy magic and are blown away with how much we learnt. Peter is a fantastic trainer, extremely patient and knowledgeable, it was a pleasure to have him as our trainer! Cannot wait to start “best mates”!

I took Darcy, who is a very reactive 11 mth old GSD, to Bonnies because i had heard that they have a lot of experience with GSDs. We completed two individual sessions at first, which convinced me that there was light at the end of the tunnel in managing Darcy's excitable nature. We then did the Best Mates course, twice. Darcy was certainly a handful, compared to the other dogs. However, the support, patience and practical advice that we received made a difference to Darcy and i also learned a lot of good tips that i continue to implement. Bonnies certainly understand dogs and provide the environment for fun activities whilst learning. We hope to be back soon for some of the advanced activities that are available. Thank you, Bonnies.

We have taken several dogs to Bonnies over a 15 year period and had great results. Our most recent experience was in 2022 at The Gap, however I found the instructor talked too much rather than making us repeat the exercises. We ran over time with most classes which was annoying. I got better results in the past when there was much more repetition, for example with Heath. Would return to Bonnies and recommend them.

We took our 6 month old German Shepherd Dog, Max, to Bonnie’s Best Mates course which was fantastic. Max hadn’t been able to complete any formal puppy training as we got him during COVID lockdown and the Best Mates course was the perfect thing to supplement the home based training we did with Max during lockdown.

I purchased the 3 books as ebooks before our grandchild was born. I have since recommended to the rest of the family and friends. The books help you understand dog psychology in the first book. The second and third helped us understand introducing a new baby and the tactics required.
Easy to read and enjoyable using the exercises recommended to assist in having a well behaved obedient Rottweiler.

We’ve been taking our boy Archie to Bonnie’s classes since he was old enough. Peter, Heath and John have been brilliant. Archie is a shepherd with a rambunctious streak and their training and guidance has worked wonders.

Our Australian Cobberdog, Master Gumphrey MacGumph, attended Bonnie’s Puppy Magic, Best Mates and now Limitless classes. I can not recommend this family business and their training methods highly enough. We have one very happy, obedient boy who loves getting up every Saturday morning to work with my son, me and his fur buddies at John’s Limitless class. We love it too!!! Best Mates training sessions were so beneficial to our puppy and ourselves. Heath is an exceptional trainer who is very knowledgeable and very personable. We would highly recommend this obedience training to anyone.

Brilliant. Peter's guidance on handling my large dog made me a better owner, and my dog a much happier campier. We had a single one on one session after the furchild bit another dog, and from what we both learned my dog's behaviour improved out of sight, and i came away with the skills to ensure this wouldn't happen again. I couldn't recommend Bonnies highly enough.

Your knowledge and ability to understand not only our dog but also us as their owner is excellent and should be commended. You gave us tools and tips that enabled us to see results almost instantly. Your sense of humour and relaxed approach made the experience really fun and we looked forward to every class. Even in a group setting you managed to individualise the training for each of us based on our dogs needs. This training has been invaluable and we have seen such a change in Harley over such a short period of time. After only 6 weeks we feel confident and in control of our 32kg puppy! Had a great experience here when training my puppy blue heeler. She was a pain when she was a puppy but the Bonnies team really aided me with obedience. well done team. Highly recommend.
