Daintree Teahouse Restaurant

Quaint spot located in the Daintree Rainforest. The teahouse surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers. The staff were very nice and informative. One of them gave us an informative lecture on different varieties of exotic fruit. The meal came with a small large selection of exotic fruits to sample. I had the kangaroo which was served with a port mustard sauce and was very flavorful however a bit over cooked. My wife had the grilled fillet of barramundi which was also very nice.

OPEN ONLY TO TOUR GROUPS! Booked a tour through Viator and this was one of the stops on the itinerary! Ordered some kangaroo meat with fries and tropical fruits. Owner gives a great talk about the tropical fruits and is so fun to be around.

Food was scrumptious and loved the informative talk on the various tropical fruits from across the globe and their histories! What better way to eat lunch than in the lush outdoors amongst the trees!

Delicious food ! Kangaroo and Barramundi and even seafood crepes the service was outstanding the drink prices ($6-7) are exceptional. There is a $20 barramundi chips and salad lunch special which is superb. Wonderful couple who runs this place definitely worth a stop in for lunch or dinner if you are in the area and on the way to or from daintree village.

If you are looking for some thing to do in Daintree, this is a right destination. So quiet and relax, suitable for holiday. The food was great, the owner was so helpful. We like it and definitely come back here :)

How often can a diner say they had a good meal and a fun as well as an educational experience at the same time.

A delicious meal of vegetarian pasta, tropical fruit salad. Wonderful experience and fantastic hospitality! Definitely recommended!

Very tasty food with great regional exotic fruit. One of the owner gave a very interesting talk about the different fruits.

This place is fantastic. Lunch was amazing. So fresh and beautifully presented. The owner was very friendly and happy to share his knowledge about the area and info on the tropical fruits we got to try with lunch. So delicious!

Family of 6 enjoyed lunching at DTR. The barramundi (chef's special and the one infused with macadamia) was superb! the owner (Peter) also shared his knowledge of the various exotic fruits, it made for a very entertaining dining experience! the price was very reasonable as well. Will be back next time we holiday in this part of Australia. Note to owner: please update the signage outside if you wish for walk-in customers?

Excellent experience in this tea house we came across. Delicious menu that was very well prepared and presented. Richard the owner was good to chat to and knowledgeable on the area. Highly recommend that you make it part of your travels.

Amazing lunch of a saltwater Barramundi, lovely coleslaw, french fries, greens, and slices of 10 different world fruits that the owner is passionate and knowledgeable about. The setting is lovely, and romantic. You feel that you have been somewhere special that you will remember for the rest of you life. Call ahead to make sure they can take you.

A gem find!
Driving around we were hungry so decided to stop for lunch. Extremely friendly service and the food was amazing. To be sitting, literally, in the forest was just a beautiful experience. A must if you're around the Daintree area.

Stopped here for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised. We had a beautiful view of the rainforest and the food was fantastic. A nice quiet place to enjoy a meal.

During a bus tour today, we stopped here for lunch. The hospitality of these two guys is second to none as was the food. I can highly recommend the barramundi and salad of the most exotic fruits 🌹❤

Had lunch today at this lovely hidden gem, would highly recommend making the trip out not only was the food amazing but the atmosphere was so tranquil and beautiful. The service was phenomenal the best I've had in a very long time.
