Solar Whisper Wildlife and Crocodile Cruises on the Daintree river

This place is incredible, and the people here are amazing; they truly love what they do. The boat ride was fantastic, and spotting wild saltwater crocodiles was a unique experience. We also encountered tree frogs and some uncommon bird species. Overall, the trip was thoroughly enjoyable, and every moment was well spent.

From the ease of online booking through to the tour itself the whole experience was excellent.
Our Dutch tour guide (sorry we forget the name) was very informative and had passion for his work. We thoroughly enjoyed his guided tour.
We were thrilled to spot the local crocs Bruce and Scarface. What a highlight!

I had a really awesome experience with them. Our guide was very engaging and is clearly very passionate about the wildlife. He told us lots of really interesting stories (and cracked a a lot of great jokes!) about not only the animals but also the rainforest and the entire area. I learned a lot. We saw "Scarface", the biggest crocodile in the area! Overall great views, great guide, great experience.

Best of the best on the river 👌🏼 Highly Reccomeneded. Professional, clean and tidy boat 🚢 very quiet can almost hear a leaf drop on the water 💧 safely operated by Marc our guide was amazing, very knowledge and has such a great eye for detail. And ofcourse we spotted crocodiles 🐊 4 including the big boys. Observing wildlife in nature who aren't in enclosures is amazing such a vibe ✨ if you're not sure just do it. It's such a great way to enter the Daintree and get some local knowledge before exploring over the river to Cape Tribulation 💯 I'll be back again Solar Whispar thankyou 😀

It was wonderful! We saw a big male croc in water, one outside, a little croc and a female. And a snake, frog...the guide was so prepared and and amazing wildlife spotter!!! The tour at the end was even longer than expected, it's a pleasure to see someone so passionate about his job. Can't recommend it more!!!

Solar Whisper Crocodile & wildlife cruise was nice introduction to the Daintree river and the habitat to which crocodiles naturally roam and live. The cruise was on a small electric boat which made for a comfortable journey along the river. It does sit lower into the water and is relatively quiet. The tour we went on was for 60 mins which followed the banks of the main river and venturing into the smaller estuaries. We saw 4 crocodiles during our time and were able to get up close with the electric boat. Our guide was informative and warm. This is not a tour where the crocodiles are fed and made to leap from the water for a crowd. It’s an opportunity to see them living in the wild. I would recommend applying insect repellent. Once you move into the mangroves the mosquitos are waiting for you.

We loved our 1 hour cruise with Solar Whispers. The guide was very knowledgeable, and great at telling you about what you were seeing. We saw three crocs, and a decent amount of time was spent viewing each one. The cruise was really relaxing and the scenery was stunning. We also saw a tree snake and a few different birds were pointed out. Definitely recommend these guys

We went on a rainy and thundering day a few weeks after significant flooding. We saw a baby croc on the shore, a male that had its head out of the water for a few minutes, and another male very briefly in the water. I was shocked that the guide could spot those crocs. We would never have seen them on our own. I highly recommend Solar Whisper. Everything about our experience was phenomenal even though we didn't see quite as many crocs out on shore as the other reviewers!

This was a terrific experience. Our captain, David, was very knowledgeable and, knowing I like birdspotting, took extra care to look out for them. He gave us plenty of interesting info about the various croc personalities and we saw quite a few plus snakes and white-lipped treefrog. Added bonus was first mate Douggie the labradoodle

Great trip on the Solar Whisper. Guide was very knowledgeable and managed our expectations well from the start. Thankfully we were lucky enough to see saltwater crocs on our trip. Something I'd never seen before! Well worth it.

the guide, David, was sensational, his voice was like ASMR and he it was the perfect combination of funny and knowledgeable. Unbelievable vision too.. We learnt a lot and now have huge respect for the crocs!!!! Loved hearing the croc drama - heavily invested in weather Nic will in fact be the new boss?? 10/10!!

Was so fabulous to see the crocs with Solar Whisper. I’ve been following the social media accounts for a while and the tour exceeded my expectations, I got to see the big crocs of the Daintree I’d gotten to know online.

Dave’s passion for these wonderful creatures shines through and even though we could only make the 1 hour tour, it was brilliant!

I loved that the boat was quiet and allowed us to get really close to see the beautiful animals!

Amazing tour and guide, small and quiet boat that can get very close. We learned a lot and got so many interesting informations about all the known crocs that live in that part of the river. Even tho the water was very high and we only saw two crocodile heads, we had a great trip.

Excellent 1 hour cruise. Very knowledgeable guides and friendly staff. We saw 4 crocs, birds, snakes, butterflies. Was a great experience to see crocs in the wild in a peaceful cruise on the Daintree. Highly reccomend

Very informative trip ,David was an excellent guide & helmsman. We saw Snakes, Flying Foxes, Crocs ,nesting frogmouths and exotic migrant pigeons. Highlight was cruising silently down the small creeks amongst the mangroves , total Nirvana.

This was such an awesome experience. Learnt so much about the local wildlife and really got a feel for the guides passion and knowledge on the importance of the Daintree in our ecosystem.
Got spoilt with some crocs, kingfisher birds, pythons, and of course the boat dog, Doug.

This is hands down THE best wildlife cruise my husband and I have been on. Marc assured us of our safety as they dont feed the crocs on the boat and immediately warded off any concerns. His love and knowledge about the Daintree wildlife is evident and remarkable. We enjoyed his insightful stories and he able to show us Scarface, Dusty and Lizzie. His incredible skills, helped us spot 2 white -lipped tree frogs, few birds and a tree snake out of the dense forest, which we would have definitely missed out on.
It was so wonderful to see all the beautiful birds, fishes and other creatures in their natural habitat. Would love to do this Daintree wildlife cruise once more. We highly recommend this cruise as a must-do when in Cairns! Thank you Marc!

Brilliant - worth every cent! Saw three adult crocs, loads of small crocs (under 2 years old), pythons, tree snakes, loads of kingfishers plus so many other types of birds. David, the guide, was so knowledgeable and added the awesome Aussie humour.

An amazing experience led by our guide Marc who was knowledgeable and an extremely passionate conservationist. As a boat owner, opting for a smaller tour boat with an electric motor made a huge difference and offered a superior wildlife experience. We saw loads of crocs.
