I purchased a puppy from this store in March and he is the healthiest happiest addition that I've made to my family in a long long time. I know everyone is against puppy farms and everything but this puppy needed a new home and he got one with me and I am so grateful.

Great store, people need to leave their political views out of reviews, it's no worse than any other pet store

Absolutely horrified at how they treat their animals. Recently purchased a hermit crab and the assistant said she “has to drop it in water to check its alive”. 😡 (brought said crab home to save its life)
And the puppies they hide from view out the back for sale smelt and looked less than happy. Clearly supports puppy farms as when questioned about the breed the assistant shrugged her shoulders and said she didn’t know. Reading all the other reviews about this shop is quite distressing.

The puppies are clearly puppymill. And labeled as purebred when they aren’t and sold for a ridiculous price. If you’re thinking “but getting one from there saves them” it may help one dog but it’s just putting more back in their place because you’re only supporting the puppy mills and they will continue. Buy from a good breeder that breeds purebred puppies with good health or if you actually want to help a dog, get one from the shelter.

One of my close friends bought a pure bred chihuahua for over a grand. Now the dog is almost one and it is 100% a cross breed. I don't understand how you can advertise/sell a dog and claim it is a pure bred chihuahua when it clearly isn't! We are in love with the dog as it is now but had we known when we first bought it we would be taking it back. I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else just everyone be aware before purchasing at this pet shop.

Purchased a Budgie from here, wasn’t given much information on the bird just that it was a baby. Took the bird home and had it for 2 days then found it dead in the morning.

Called the store to let them know as there was obviously something wrong with the bird.
I was immediately interrogated about where it was what was in the cage for it to harm itself.
(Nothing besides food /water and a plastic mirror) - She then asked if I have a photo of the dead bird!!!!!
i was told by the young girl she would call the manager and call me back.

( I get of the phone and explain how odd the call was to family)

10 minutes later I get a call and it’s the young girl from the store. She informs me that the manager said I can’t have a refund but I can have a $25 credit towards another Budgie!

I was floored! Not once did I ask for a refund I was simply letting them know what had happened incase some other birds were sick!
She informed me none of the birds are sick and it must have eaten something in the cage!!
Basically accusing me of causing the death of the bird. I did ask her was she accusing me to which she said well the bird wasn’t sick!

My son was devastated this had happened and all the store cared about was trying to sell me another bird.

Very unprofessional and I regret spending any money there!
If I could leave a -5 star review I would!!

Do NOT recommend at all!

I bought two male mice from this pet store about a week ago. One had significant injuries due to one or two territorial males been placed with younger males. All had pretty serious respiratory issues. Today one died due to how serious the respiratory infection was, even with treatments of antibiotics. The other seems to be improving. The people that own and work for this store don't care for their animals that they have there; they only care about making money. On another note I have also had several fighter fish die within a few days no matter what I do, of which I bought from this store. I do not recommend buying anything from this pet store.

16 Puppies are in this pet store right now. when are people going to learn not to support these pet stores. The only way puppy farms are going to close down is when people stop buying from these stores. There are so many dog's and puppies in rescue that need adopting but people still choose to support puppy farming by buying from these people. YOU NEED TO STOP NOW.

By far the worst pet store in Queensland. In the summer time, you can see the poor puppies and kittens panting from heat exhaustion or laying in their own water bowls in an attempt to cool down due to the poorly ventilated pens. More often that not, when I walk past their is dry water dishes, dirty pens and old food left over from previous feeds.
There are disclaimers that are on the pens that say "pets may not grow exactly to form" which I believe highly suggests they come from improper breeding facilities. Just because a dog isn't Pedigree doesn't mean it will not grow to be what it should be. Growth deformities and problems often come from inbreeding. Puppies need to be socialised constantly and need proper human interaction to have a good start at life. Shoppers staring into their cages and taping on the glass is not interaction. These puppies and kittens need more room, better ventilated pens and better socialisation.

The aquatic section is also horrible. The betta fish exhibit is the worst fish display I have ever seen. Each betta is housed in around 200ml of water, which is always cloudy and dirty. There is no filtration or heating. There are no dividers between the containers to stop the male bettas from flaring and becoming distressed due to seeing another male. The other tanks are small and crowded.

Underneath the containers are "guides" that explain to potential buyers that these fish can live happily in a vase, with unfiltered and unheated water, even suggesting that putting the fish under a desk lamp will heat the water, which it will not. The minimum tank size for a betta should be at least 5 gallons (20L). The kmart across the mall sells tanks that can house a betta more suitably than any of the decorative vases and bowls for a fraction of the price.

Bettas may be able to live in a bowl like this, but their life will be short-lived, unhealthy and unhappy. There is no excuse for giving out false information to buyers. There are far more reputable fish and pet stores in the area that will make sure your fish is housed correctly.

The bird cages are small and overcrowded and the mice cages smell and seem unkempt. The prices here are usually higher than other stores by a significant amount and sell many mimic products such as Betta Water.

You are much better off spending your money elsewhere. You'll save money and extend the life of your pet. Rather than buy one of the puppies or kittens, adopt one from the local shelter. It's cheaper, there are less risks, you're doing a good deed and you can still get puppies and kittens.

There is no reason at all for this store to be the way that it is. The store is big enough to house proper cages and environments for these animals, and if it isn't, don't house more than you can fit properly.

If you want to buy a pet for your kid, save yourself the hassle of explaining death to your child early on and take your business else were to receive healthier, happier animals and proper education and advice on homing and environment. You'll save money, too.

PLEASE have a heart and DO NOT BUY PETS FROM PET SHOPS. Boycott this store for all merchandise until they stop selling pets. Don't support puppy farms and backyard breeders. It doesn't matter where they get the pets from, if they're not from a proper rehoming centre like AWL or RSPCA, it only encourages illegal breeding and impromptu buying. All pets are for life and should be a well thought out decision. Support OSCARS LAW and stay away from this store and others like it. Wish I could give a negative star review.

This store is so bad it even has to rely on fake 5 star reviews to try and boost its rating (check them out - no narrative and the only review they've ever done is for this store) For the girl that went on about "rescuing" them by buying them - this only perpetuates the problem. These dogs need to be taken out of those cages and walked and socialised daily otherwise potential pet owners are buying problems straight up. They need to be microchipped and should come with a vet check certificate. As it is, it's irresponsible, harmful for the health of the dogs and a bad buy for any potential pet owners. I won't get into the inhumane side of selling puppy farm pups that are often riddled with health problems, or the store's general poor pet care and maintenance - other reviewers have already covered that 😉

I went in yesterday evening to purchase a budgie. I saw some budgies with deformed beaks and pointed it out to staff who dismissively said they need to be trimmed. In the meanwhile these birds are not able to eat properly!

If I could give less I would. Spent $3000 on a puppy. They said he was English staffy American staffy. Vet says now he clearly has bull Arab in him. Love him dearly and wouldn't change anything about him, but very misleading and extremely overpriced

Sells unmicrochipped mix breed animals for a ridiculous price. Where do you source these from? Might not be a puppy farm but back yard breeders are no better. No self respecting breeder would sell their animals to a pet store.
