Bombay on the Beach

The best Indian restaurant in Tasmania, and definitely one of the best Indian restaurants we have been to in Australia.
The food is yummy - we ordered aloo chaat, fish pakora, goat curry, bhuna beef, goat biryani, and (out of the menu) Gobhi Paratha.
The atmosphere is great, and so is the service. we were served by Kulwinder who accommodated our request to make gobhi parathas although it was not on the menu. Kudos to the chef who made each dish delicious and took us back to our childhood.
we had food at the restaurant and packed some for our home as well.

The food was undeniably delicious, with flavours that delighted our palates. As Sri Lankans eager to explore authentic Indian cuisine, we found the spice levels to be a bit intense for our taste, but the overall experience was exceptional. The presentation of the dishes was impeccable, and the portion sizes were surprisingly generous – our meal for two easily satisfied three hungry diners. Additionally, the service was good. The quality of the food, portion sizes, and attentive service made the total bill of $117 feel justified.

Great indian fine dining restaurant. Food was really good. We tried pahari lamb shank and palak paneer with mango lassi and chilli cheese naan. Enjoyed the food and ambience. Just in front of the beach where we went for a bit of evening stroll afterwards. Good food. Will go there again when visiting Tassie.

So glad we found this place while exploring the area. The food was delicious. We couldn’t try the goat as it was sold out but instead had the dal, butter chicken and biryani and it was amazing. The food quality is great. The staff were attentive and the owner was lovely to deal with even though it was super busy. Highly recommend this place.

We had lunch at Bombay on the Beach on Friday 26/4. Absolutely delicious meal. We had 3 types of curry, each one was different. We had lamb, prawn and chicken, for us they were perfect with just the right amount of heat.. We shared the curries and there was ample servings for our party of 3.. The rice was a large serving and although we ordered 3 of them 2 would have been more than enough. Together with nan bread, 2 beers and a gin and tonic the bill was very reasonable . The waitress was very helpful and efficient... Indian food is a favourite of ours and Bombay on the Beach doesn't disappoint..

Good food, authentic taste and amazing hospitality. You don’t need any thing more. Recommendation for vegetarians - Lahsuni Palak kofta with garlic roti. Highly recommend if you’re in and around Hobart.

Our go-to special or any occasion restaurant. Best Indian in Hobart by far. Great variety of dishes enjoyed by both adults and children in our family. Excellent vegetarian options including delicious momo. After 4 years I'm yet to be disappointed by a night at Bombay ❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏

Bombay on the Beach offers a flavorful journey for your taste buds with a beautiful ambience . Plenty of options for vegetarians to pick from . The spice levels were catered to perfection with beautiful presentation.

While the paneer was a bit dry and lacha parata was dry too , the mushroom curry was out of this world. The highlight of the meal was the Kashmiri naan, which was truly exceptional. We would visit again just to have the Kashmiri naan again . The staff were friendly and the ambiance was cozy. Overall, despite the minor flaw, Bombay on the Beach is a must-visit for those seeking authentic Indian cuisine by the beach .

I don’t review very often but I had to!!! BECAUSE YOUR FOOD IS LIKE HOME AND HEAVEN. THE BEST IN TASSIE BECAUSE I HAVE TRIED THEM ALL. None of ‘em like you guys !! Hands down the best !!!!

BOMBAY ON THE BEACH is best Indian restaurant In Tasmania. We have been to every single restaurant of Tassie and Bombay On beach has got everything.
• Great service (2 girls at Front were amazing last night).
• Delicious Food (Spice level was perfect).

What a great place to eat! From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed and comfortable. The manager was friendly, helpful and accommodating of my dietary requirements. Gluten free? Not a problem here. The food was superb and authentic with decent portions. Our bill was just under $100 which included 2 main curries dishes, saffron rice, gf naan bread and a generous glass of red wine.
We would highly recommend you pay ‘Bombay on the Beach’ a visit. You’ll be so glad you did! Thanks so much guys for a memorable night! Cheers. 👏☺

There are no words to describe the experience of the food and taste! The taste of the various food we tried were unbelievable yummy! The staff were friendly and warm. A must try for yummy food. 😋 not to be missed!

I was amazed with the food. It was so delicious.
Starters were great. The quantity of vegetarian curry was enough for 2 of us. Chai and dessert was good too. It was worth driving all the way to blackmans bay for having food over there.

This was definitely a Wow experience. The menu can be overwhelming at first, but be patient. There is a good selection of vegetarian options, like the earthy lentils and silky eggplant dishes we decided on. With the usual naan, rice and chutneys, there was more than enough to satisfy the two of us. The service was professional and friendly. We paid $80 which we thought was excellent value.
