We wished we had room left for a pancake. They look divine 😋
Owners Ben & Bec were so friendly making everyone feel very comfortable. We will definitely come here again next time we visit this area. 10 out of 10 .

Took the time to come back to Margate just for the pancakes. Turns out it was well worth it. My plate was the engineer's breakfast which was massive. Finished it all and had a bite of the scones which were excellent and so was the banana choc pancakes. Beverages were excellent and Ben the guy running the place was present and was very kind from the minute we arrived and had a warm chat about the place etc. His team handled everything without a glitch. If in large groups it is preferred to ring and book as it can get unexpectedly busy and you could miss out on a seat inside the carriage. With or without the train the brekky was great, the train makes it atypique and i wish Ben and the team more fun years in the carriage.

Great food had the eggs Benny wife had the gluten free and dairy free coconut ice cream absolutely delicious the gentleman who I think was the boss went out of his way to get tables cleaned to fit us in the carriage very busy the carriage was completely comfortable the two young ladies that served us we very friendly even witnessed one of the chefs come out and make sure a order was correct coffee was good definitely worth stopping in we will be fully recommending to everyone

We’ve come here a few times now for a big Sunday breakfast with our kids and have never left disappointed. The portion sizes and food are incredible and very affordable. Best bacon we have ever had!! All the meats and produce are at a very high standard, the mushrooms just melt in your mouth. Welcoming and warm atmosphere, with the option of eating inside or sitting out in the sun. Staff were very attentive and particularly Ben who went out of his way to ensure each customer that walked in was greeted right away and went above and beyond to make them feel comfortable. This will be our new place to come to for special breakfast occasions

This quaint little stop for breakfast is well worth any travel. Aboard the retired Tasman Limited are a few little shops and the best pancakes I’ve had. The service was also perfect, friendly with a nice side of humour. It might sound strange at first but as the pancakes aren’t made too sweet, the Eggs Benedict on pancakes is an amazing choice. Don’t knock it till you try it. A big thank you to Ben and the team for making our last morning in Tassie a most delicious one.

The scones and pancakes were yummy! We had to wait like 15 minutes for a table, but honestly, the food and service totally made up for it. The staff was super friendly, and the customer service was just amazing.

Delicious pancake. The pancake itself is not sweet but the texture is good. Also it makes a good balance of the sweetness with the ice cream and mixed berry jam . There is not many tables but has a good vibe inside. Recommend for families and couples. Better make booking in advance.

Ben and his wife run this fantastic diner inside the train carriage. The food is great and they really care about their customers - regulars and new. Thanks for a great lunch! Highly recommend

Not every ice cream scooper has the mettle to endure the demands of 7 kids and 4 childish adults on a warm afternoon, but Ben and the team at the Pancake Train wouldn’t let anything rattle their carriage. Catering to all our needs including gluten free, upside down cones and ice-packs for train-induced shiners, we appreciated the generosity of spirit and generosity of serving size of delicious Tasmanian Valhalla ice cream. Easy parking, incredible value and kind hospitality, this is an essential stop in the Kingborough region at any time of year.

Quality food served by warm and hospitable staff. One of the best pan cakes we have had for sure. The xp of sitting in a vintage train coach is an added bonus. An overall wonderful experience and highly recommended.

One of the best places to enjoy some good breakfast and the beautiful view of Kingston.
The food is amazing and the staffs are very friendly.
The Margate Train is a tourist attraction and shopping area located adjacent to the Channel Highway in Margate. Having food served in this heritage spot is just awesome. If you are here at the right time you can enjoy the beautiful lavender farm just across the road.

You should give this place a try for sure.

Had lunch here during the week with 4 people (2 adults, 2 kids). Lots of options for sweet pancakes, but hubby had a vegan curry pastry which he said was amazing.
The milkshakes are huge! And they have some great flavours, I got honeycomb and it was perfect and not too sweet.
Will definitely be back again.

We went there on a Saturday arvo and it was not crowded at all. Service was good and the food was yummy. I had “apple and cinnamon pancakes with ice cream” which was excellent. Got the half potion and it filled my belly up quickly. My husband got pancakes with berries which was good as well but I preferred mine.

I rarely do reviews but this restaurant deserves a good one.
The meal I had was delicious. The best bacon I have tasted in Tasmania and the coffee was also very good. The owner, Ben, introduced himself and made us feel very welcome. His young female waitress was also excellent. Unfortunately didn't get her name. Top place to go.

We had the apple cinnamon pancakes & the kids pancakes with maple syrup + ice-cream. Both were so tasty!! The full serve of the apple cinnamon pancakes was huge and very filling. The service was great :)

That was the best Canadian breakfast I've ever eaten. Pancakes, bacon and scrambled eggs cooked to perfection. Complemented with very good coffee

The Margate Pancake Train is a must if you are passing through! Owners are super friendly and customer service is outstanding! Highly recommend, pancakes & coffee are delicious !
