Bark Mill Tavern & Bakery

Ate a family dinner here. The menu is really good, lots of options and not just ya chicken parmie norms. I was confident from Google review pics and the menu that this place had a pro in the kitchen, we weren't disappointed! The roast chicken special with baked celeriac was awesome with the béarnaise sauce. And the Kilpatrick and natural oysters were delicious. Our 9 yr old loved her spaghetti and the waitress was really good with her. The restaurant full stop was exceptional, just the bar is an odd shape, a bit hollow, like drinking in ya mates garage. But we'd definitely eat there again.. 😋

Smooth long black with good crema and latte art was a nice touch. Delicious scrambled egg on toast - it's pretty rare to get toast buttered for you right to the corners of the bread, but that's what they did. Clean and has toilets. So far the experience of food in Tassie has been sensational. ❤ Tasmania.

Been travelling for 2 weeks in Tasmania and this is the best meal we have had to date. Highly recommend this place

My friend and I came here for dinner one night and had the best experience. We are both vegan and ordered the Buddha bowl, and it was absolutely delicious and so filling which was exactly what we needed after a long day. Staff are lovely as well!

Fantastic! Food is delicious, vast selection of beers on tap, excellent customer service, awesome vibes, great value! Atmosphere is awesome because the staff are absolute Chads! 💪👊 Seating available both inside and outside of this big Tavern, AND they have two cozy fireplaces! The food is prepared quickly and the quality is amazing! Seriously, I never have high hopes eating at a tavern but the professional yet relaxed standard at Bark Mill was such a pleasant surprise! We came here for dinner two nights in a row! 🤩🤩 The woodfired pizzas are Bussin' 🤤 and the banana split is a must! Absolutely, definitely recommend! 👍👍👍👍👍

I was in Swansea for two nights as a solo traveller. On my first visit, I ordered the Cobb loaf and garlic butter and the fish (beer battered flake) and chips and a light beer. The warm Cobb loaf is massive (best shared between two) but delicious. The fish was fresh, well cooked and the chips were crunchy. The staff was friendly and as I like to eat early, I pretty much had the place to myself at 5pm. I finished off with one of the best sticky date pudding desserts I’ve ever had. I was completely stuffed but happy. I would recommend coming here for dinner with a healthy appetite, perhaps skip lunch. LOL

I returned the next day for dinner at the same time. I went old school and ordered bangers and mash. It was delicious, hot and swimming in gravy. The staff even remembered my name. I couldn’t managed an entree or dessert the second time. Great place, great staff and great atmosphere and will definitely come back if I’m ever in this part of the world again.

This was a lovely place to visit with my family. The order was taken and prepared quickly. We were checked on to ensure that we were all happy. The food was very fresh and perfectly cooked. The atmosphere is welcoming and we were set for the day and our adventures. Highly recommended for your family.

Great little spot that we dropped in for brunch. Pies, sausage rolls, pizzas, tea and coffee, and cakes. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was tasty.

If I could rate higher than 5 stars, I would. Staff went above and beyond to make sure me and my party of four were fed. We're late for our reservation and the kitchen was closing soon. They're willing to take our call-in order and the food was ready when we arrived.
The garlic and butter scallops were cooked to perfection. Portion on the chicken schnitzel was generous not to mention the creamy scallop sauce came with actual scallops! The soup of the day was so thick and creamy. All in all, a marvellous dining experience.

Eclectic array of shearing and farming gear, the new complex has been built around the Woolshed at the front, this is the dining area. Well decorated/appointed, great pub menu and the pizza's are great 👍, seems ppl around me are ordering them. I will try the bakery side of the business tomorrow 😃
I called in for breakfast the next morning and the next, wow, smashed avocado with lovely deco, coffee great. The staff were flexible and removed the egg from my order 👍👌

The food was good and flavoursome. We were glad we stopped by here to have our dinner and we would definitely be back again if we are going past this part of Tasmania. The staff were great and plenty of options go drinks from the tap. Had a great meal here, thanks!

Food was 10 out of 10. The service was excellent as well. The Porterhouse steak was beautifully cooked with good pepper sauce! The oysters Kilpatrick were delicious! (Large oysters with loads of bacons on top) Will definitely visit again soon!

Pizza was great! Crispy and tasty. We had to wait a bit longer since the wood-fired oven needed to come to temperature again. Service was great, too! Because we had to wait a bit longer they gave us a pizza for free. That was extraordinary.

Very good restaurant and may be only one big restaurant at Swansea with Very good vegetarian options. We had Veg. Pizza , garlic pizza & veg noodles and potato chips. Very good Veg Pizza.
Good seating arrangement and very good service. Must appreciate team for service and efficiency.

Enjoyed our time there very much. We went on a Wednesday when they had a $25 "pot & parmi" special (parmigiana & cup of on-tap beer). Portions were very generous and came out quite quickly despite there being alot of people there. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Our family shared a meal at the Tavern on Parmie night. Fantastic value with great food. The staff were very pleasant and the vibe was welcoming.

The pepper pie at the bakery was literally the best pie we have ever had (and we have travelled all over Australia). It was not your traditional pepper pie, this was something special.

Beautiful large meals took 1 hour to receive our lunch with numerous apologies and free chips and drink offered for inconvenience well worth the wait..Heating non existent .very cold . Lovely staff
