Saltshaker Restaurant.

On the way from Wineglass Bay to Triabunna, I stopped in Swansea for its good location
I checked if there were any good option in town for dinner, and I was pleased to find Saltshaker Restaurant
What first made me choose it was the views it seemed to offer, and I can now confirm, beautiful ones
Also, the menu is very tempting, with oysters, pies, fish, pasta, pizza, curry; and a nice selection of desserts too
I personally went for the scallop pie (Tasmanian wild scallops in mild yellow curry, that came with chips and also the chef's salad, which on top of green salad had fruits and feta cheese).
And as a dessert the cake of the day, which was an almond one, that came with whipped cream
Every food item was super yummy, really loved them
Also the view is so nice (pro tip, you may want to bring a jacket depending when you go)
If you prefer to be inside though (which has big windows to offer a very nice view too), reservation is highly encouraged as it can get busy

Salt shaker didn’t disappoint us with best pizza and fresh seafood in tassie, we had peri peri chicken - less than 10min service even on a busy holiday seasons. Mind blowing quick service. Great backyard with view of sea. I will visit again.

Well.. A restaurant that still opened a bit late at Swansea area. Our savior so that we can still had proper dinner. LOL. Anyway, the staff's friendly and the food was great. We ordered Aussie Pizza and Lamb Shank. Both were delicious. They offer liquors too if you want. Enjoy guys!

Amazing! We’re steak loving Queenslanders and it was the best steak my husband had ever had - amazing flavours. Seafood was great. And it was a blessing to have a great kid’s menu - we were grateful. Thank you Saltshaker.

Really loved our meals! A menu with lots of choices, including vegan. Beautiful service, couldn’t be more accommodating for our large group of 10. Oh, and the views - wow, spectacular. Wish there were more places like this!

Popped in for a last minute drink tonight on the deck, ended up having tea. Reading all the reviews you may be a bit put off, but hey, you make your own mind up. We did and it was delicious. Great location, staff were friendly and a nice feel. I had the seafood chowder (entree size), big meal I was full. Full of seafood and yummy. The little bread yummy too. So don’t be phased by what you read, give this place a go.

We had previously enjoyed breakfast here so came back for lunch. Seafood chowder for me and Scallops and Chips for him.

Awesome food!!! Great hospitality!!! Great view. My family enjoyed the food thoroughly. Chili prawn pizza, linguine, burger with chips, iced cold coffee with ice cream.

Stunning views of the water and delicious seafood. We shared the seafood basket which was delicious, the scallops and prawns were standouts. Great place to stop on the drive on the East Coast.

Food was so good. Very unassuming from outside but food tasted so good. We got the chicken Kiev and the prawn and coconut curry. Wish we weren't just on holiday so we could come back for more!

Despite some roadworks going on right outside the door, it's clear that this is a special place. Overlooking the park and with a view of the sea, Saltshaker was a great place to stop after a few hours on the road. Service was helpful, flexible and polite at the counter and efficient at the table. The food and drinks were just what the doctor ordered - tasty and hot.

Delicious - great wait staff and the most amazing view !
Breakfast order for us and it was sensational! We ordered, sat on the deck and then watched the chef run outside to pick fresh spring onions for our order. Coffee was spot on, food was perfect, poached eggs perfect and the wait staff couldn't be more helpful. One even stopped eating her own breakfast to take a photo for us.
The gin ! Oh my lordy - bufferfly gin is a must !
