Hitching Post Bar + Grill

I am not usually one to write a review but I cannot be more grateful for the service I received tonight! Our dinner came out incredibly fast, which was awesome on its own. I then asked the lovely waitress as to whether or not the burger patty had onion in it as I brought my pup with and was wanting to give her some. She wasn’t sure and asked whether or not I wanted her to check for me, I didn’t want to bother her so I said that wasn’t necessary. She asked anyways which was so thoughtful but then the chef came over and gave my pup her own little patty!! Just blown away from the amazing service, thank you Hitching Post Bar + Grill. We will definitely be back

We love our local restaurant. As one of our little people Is anaphylactic to dairy, it is comforting to know that, although this isn’t a dairy free kitchen, they make every effort to ensure that certain meals are prepared as dairy free which takes a lot of the stress from eating out.

The best restaurant in the region, though there aren’t many alternative options around between Chapel Hill-Moggill suburbs. Western cuisine, family friendly dishes. Concise menu but focused on quality of food and consistency. Love the environment: full of locals and always warm in the Pullenvale winter. A good, cosy local pub - if you feel like a beer or two on a Friday night. Oh, can’t forget the friendly and helpful local staff. A true Pullenvale local :)

I read about a previous negative review, but agree it might have been an unreported issue, as staff is always helpful. We dine in once or twice a week and had never had any issues.

Quiet chill vibe, very quick and lovely service. Mid week dinner after 7pm that was beyond expectations... would rather not go anywhere else in the area from now on

We had a lovely dinner with friends to celebrate my husband's birthday. The food was delicious and offered a great selection.

Really good food and service. I just wish there was a bigger range of draft beers.

We tried their new menu last night. My husband had the Tasmanian Sticky BBQ Beef Short Rib and a day later won't shut up about it 😅 He loved it. I had the Cape Grim Lamb which was delicious. It's so nice to discover something a little special so close to home. 🙂 Keep up the good cooking 👌🏻

Highly recommend as service is always great from Sabrina and the meals and menu from Cody are brilliant! It’s our local go to every time.

We have been house bound due to flooding. Just wanted a good meal close to home. Found it in spades. Nadine was so accommodating & helpful. She was efficient, friendly and gave great customer service. The chef was efficient and the food was absolutely amazing. My lamb shoulder was to die for as was the pizza. Many many thanks for your great food and service today. Just what we needed. We will be back.

Food - Wow! Looking for vegetarian options, and this is kinda the only veg pizza on the menu & it only has 3 ingredients on the base - mushrooms, truffle oil & mozzarella. That's it. I asked the chef about adding ingredients because that didn't sound like much. While he was happy to do that, he said, and I quote, "That pizza's the bomb, though. You really should try it." So we did. We were not disappointed. The fungi pizza is the bomb! He also made up a kinda veg supreme pizza for us, which was also incredibly tasty.
Service - See above. But we were also impressed with Chef Cody's 'happy to help' attitude. Actually, we were impressed with the service and cheerfulness of all the staff. Excellent customer service and scrumptious food; what else could you ask for? Oh yeah...
Atmosphere - casual, easy-going, comfortable vibe. Easy listening music from the speaker at the bar - not unpleasantly loud. We're glad that we took the option to enjoy our pizza's and drinks outside in the breezeway - it was a hot night so we appreciated the breeze. Added all together, these ingredients made a great atmosphere 'recipe'.

Great venue! So helpful with hosting an event for us with 50 people, they accommodated us so well. Staff are friendly and always make you feel welcome. The food is amazing, especially the buffalo wings! And always have a good choice of drinks on tap.

Best restaurant ever! The staff are amazing and they are so helpful about food and being choices; you can definitely tell that they genuinely enjoy the food. No words to describe the chef, everything I've ever ordered has been amazing. The food is always delicous and has a good portion size. I love the seasonal menu changes, there is always something new to try.

Food is above average, good selection of beer, not cheap but you get what you pay for, a touch of ala-carte in the suburbs, although not regulars, we will visit at least monthly, atmosphere is nice, we chose to sit outside, staff friendly and polite.

Food, had a rare steak it was delicious, well presented good seasoning, other meals by the rest of our group, were excellent presentation made ones mouth water.

At the end of the night, no one complained, very satisfied diners....

Service was quick and friendly. Menu is classic pub or bistro style but cooked perfectly. The baby Calamari share plate was some of the best cooked squid I've ever had, and the fried jalapeños went down a treat! Thanks for a great night out!

Excellent quality food, well priced and great service

Fantastic! Cozy establishment with great promise. Drink pricing is very reasonable with some great brews on tap. Burger patty was slightly overdone but it didn't stop the burger from tasting amazing. Really fresh ingredients. Overall I was pleasantly surprised. Will definitely go back with the lads.
