Board Culture Surf Store

One of the coolest coffee shops on the Gold Coast. Well disguised, as the shop was full of surf boards and paraphernalia. Menu was simple but a had good variety .

I had a flat white and a salted caramel and pecan slice. Delicious 😋 .

Barista was a pleasant man. Made me a very nice coffee, even though he’d cleaned the machine readying for closing time.

Travis and his team are friendly and always welcome you with a smile. Their coffee is fantastic and probably the quickest prepared coffee around when you are in a rush! The whole culture that they have brought to Mermaid is great with a relaxed environment and joyful chat while ordering your coffee.

In an area with an abundance of coffee shops, this is by far the best. Double shot coffee as the standard, great vibes, excellent staff and dog friendly. Great range of surf gear too with tailored advice.
I have to walk past 3 other coffee places to get here but it's well worth it!

This is a fabulous cafe. They make a really excellent strong coffee all the specialty milks are available as well as syrups. Very friendly staff and a very chilled vibe. The little pastry treats are also yummy if you want to spoil yourself. Thoroughly recommend this place.

Love the coffee here! Have to remember to bring own reusable cup as they don’t offer drink in cups. No problem for us :) love the food deals of toasty and a coffee for $10 when we’re having a busy morning. Friendly staff and no-frills.

The store lives up to the name. The owner is a respectful, courteous and candid person. We went in, fresh off the plane, looking to hire a board for the week. Not having checked the forecast yet, little did we know it was going downhill as of the following morning. The owner told us "I won't take your money knowing that it would be wasted, come back Tuesday when the surf shapes up" bloody legend.
He then gave us a tour of his shop and some history on local board makers.
I'll be coming back here again for sure!!

Amazing staff and the manager/owner was extremely helpful! We were looking to rent a couple boards but the manager was honest in his recommendation of conditions at mermaid beach and sent us to a better location so we could have a pleasurable experience! We ended up buying some local merchandise and had a great day of surfing. Win for everyone. Straight up honest advice. Would buy a board here. Thanks!

I felt very confident about buying my board from Travis. He was committed to providing me with the best board for my needs. He took the time to ask questions, let me compare boards and he even gave me a detailed understanding of shapes and fins. Travis' shop is definitely a community surf shop, the kind we used to have.

Only stopped for a coffee. Strong coffee done well with milk served at an appropriate temperature. No sugar required. Highly recommended.

I grew up on the gold coast and have lived away most of my adult life and there is nothing better than getting off the plane at coolie and getting off the airport shuttle at boardculture for one of the gold coasts best coffee's !!!! nothing like that home feeling everytime !!! thanks trav and the team at BC

great shop and coffee that has that local relaxed 70-80s feel that most of the goldcoast has lost ,ignore the one bad review about not being able to touch boards etc i was free to browse as much as i liked with a coffee in hand

Travis makes the best Chai Latte's, can soak up this atmosphere for hours at a time. Chill place, top operators!

Travers and the boys provided outstanding service, quickly sought to understand me, my general fitness, skill level and favourite beaches to help me narrow my board choices, without the hard sell.
