Came here to celebrate a birthday and we had such a lovely time! The food was incredibly delicious and had a homemade-feel to it. It is a quiet little shop which makes it easy to have conversations(unlike restaurants which have loud customers and play loud music). If you want an authentic Japanese cuisine experience, this place does the trick!

This is the place to have good Japanese food in the Burwood area.
Run by a Japanese family, therefore the food is tasty and surprisingly very affordable with its serving portion.
The staff are friendly and very helpful.
Utensils, seasonings and water is self-served yourself.
The electronic payments will attract some surcharge.
Ordering systems is quite unique by writing the number of the menu.
Opening time is rather unique, only 3 hours per day during the weekdays and close for the rest of the week including the weekend.
Parking is available on the Street after 6 PM with no charge or walks from the Westfield shopping malls.

Great little Japanese restaurant, very low key but worth every effort. I had an amazing dinner there, the ramen was rich and incredible while the chicken karate was crispy and juicy. The chef is also a very nice lady. If you’re looking for a quality Japanese restaurant, this is it. It’s not as fancy as the places in the CBD but the flavour blew me away.

I absolutely amazed by this restaurant! they serve really qood quality food with a low price. I ordered Egg Eel Don (rice, eel, and 3/4 cooked egg) and Miso Soup.

Table, floor, dish, chairs are clean. The portion is also big enough for its price, there was self-service water dispenser so u don’t need to buy a bottled water.

definitely 10/10. worth to try!

Burwood hidden gem!

We've been walking past this place for the last 1.5 years and always said we should go in and try it.. finally decided to and very glad we did.

We ordered Gyozo - Pork Ramen - Pork Katzu Japanese Curry... all for $36.

Everything came out within 20 minutes and we couldn't believe how similar the food was to the food in Japan after our recent visit.

Very cheap and very tasty.. we will be coming here often.

I've been here twice now and both times I've had a great experience. The ramen here is the star of the show, it's delicious, fatty and aromatic and it's great value for money. It seems like this is a family run business which is commendable. We will be back!

Donburi is so much better than other Japanese places in the city or the Mikazaki franchise. It tastes home-made. I can totally see myself going here again the next day.

$8.80 ramen and oyako don (see pics). Nuff said! Generous portions, genuine taste. The owner is actually Japanese. Highly recommended! Only down side is the self service which was not an issue when I visited, but may slow things down when store is full.

Fantastic, busy and quirky little Japanese restaurant at a very prime location right next to burwood westfields! The restaurant is self serve, so you have to write down your order yourself and get water and cutleries yourself which is absolutely not a problem :) Staff was friendly and very unnecessarily apologetic haha she is so hard working and always on the ball! The food was delicious and at very reasonable prices and portions. Efficient and fast, super cute - would come back again and would recommend to friends :)

Speaking as a resident in Burwood, Mo Mi Ji is easily my favourite restaurant. It is excellent value, and everything I've tried so far has been wonderful. My tip is to get anything with egg - the Oyakodon for example is absolutely delicious.

One of the best Japanese cuisine in Sydney. Way better than any other Japanese cuisine in Burwood. Every Raman and Don are very tasty and addictive. Price is very reasonable. The owner is very nice. Recommend Eel Don and Kara age Don.

Authentic Japanese restaurant with real Jap style, aka self-service. Under $10 Ramen with great taste and portion! They close on weekends which is such a pity.

Definitely a hidden gem amidst the ubiquitous, ostentatious eatery scenery of Burwood! Located on the quieter side of Burwood Rd opposite the park, this family run restaurant's lowkey facade belies the delicious authentic Japanese fare it offers. This place is run by a nice Japanese family so you know the food is indeed the real deal. Everything is self-service, so you have to write your order down yourself on the paper provided and take it to the counter as well as pour your own water and get your own condiments. This is actually a great idea; everything can be done at your own leisure. The menu is extensive and everything is cheap, nothing is over $20! The serving sizes are generous too, so it's amazing value for money. All items on the menu taste fantastic but my personal favourites are any dishes with chicken karaage or teriyaki salmon. Service is always excellent and fast, when we went yesterday for dinner our first side dish was on the table within 10 minutes of ordering! I've been coming here with my family for a few years now and the food and service never disappoint, it's one of my favourite places to eat. Highly recommend!

Delightful little place that always seems to be closed when we are looking for some ramen. ( What?! Closed this weekend as well?! )
The serving lady highlights the impeccable politeness of the Japanese culture.
The food is consistently good and reasonably priced.
Family friendly atmosphere with street parking and far enough away not to be over crowded

A lovely small family restaurant providing authentic Japanese food. I come very frequently and get used to the self-serving services. In terms of the food, the ramen tastes best, the rice don is average and ok to try. The bento is ok but not as impressive as the ramen. The price is really reasonable comparing with other Japanese restaurants.

Visited the place for second time, and I can say that restaurant makes authentic Japanese home cuisine. I tried the pork katsu-don, it did not disappointed me at all. I would visit the venue often for meal.

This place is a hidden treasure. It has a low profile from outside but once step in you would notice the table are spotless; Self served Hot tea or ice water is complementary. The food are amazing at this price point. I personally prefer the broth of the ramen than some of the chain ramen restaurants. Sometimes the owner’s son helps out with delivering the dishes which just makes me feel warmth as I am having dinner with my family.

I am quite surprised that I am the first person to write this review. The quality and freshness of food are better than the most higher ended Japanese restaurant. The restaurant does not sacrifice quality in order to make profit. The chef is making food with his/her heart with full of passion. You can tell the mind of this restaurant, " I am making food to serve people and make them happy. "
