Family friendly accommodation, you don’t need to pay two rooms like the other hotels in the town centre.
Rooms are tiny and neat, very clean.
Plenty of space in the room.

They even provide cleaning tools for your windshield (tooo many flies crushed on it makes it dirty) outside next to the door.

We have stayed at Bishop's Lodge a lot of times when we do our adhoc trips between Sydney and Adelaide, and have never been disappointed. Rooms are spacious and always clean, beds are comfortable, and the service is excellent. Being close to the main highway, you can hear some traffic and probably more so for some VERY sensitive people but it was fine for us. It is not close to town as such but definitely within an easy and short driving distance. Highly recommend it.

This place was recommended to us as a great place to stay, and I can confirm it absolutely is. Really friendly staff, reasonable rates, clean and well presented rooms in a good location. We will be coming back. Thank you for such an enjoyable stay.

It was an absolute pleasure to stay at the Bishops lodge. After arriving after hours Doug met me at the reception with a friendly smile and a great attitude. I’d asked to inspect the room after a disappointing check in experience earlier in the day elsewhere in Hay. There rooms weren’t (as advertised) or anywhere near tidy or cool. After the long drive from Adelaide it just wasn’t going to be a good night in.

After checking Doug’s rooms they were beyond expectation. Neat, tidy and the air conditioning was on. It was nice and cool, on a hot day.

Another great feature that’s hard to find in a motel or hotel is enough beds in one room for a family of 5. This often requires us to take on 2 rooms at greater expense. The bishops family room has you covered! 2 spacious rooms.

The whole establishment is a testament to the owner. Even the lawns are cut beautifully adding to the overall experience.

Rooms are spacious, modern and well maintained.
Reception staff were extremely inviting and a pleasure to deal with. The in house restaurant was nice. Fairly basic menu, but the food was excellent, as was the service.
The motel is situated on the edge of town on the hwy, but you can still safely walk down to the main street.
Highly recommend.

We stayed overnight on our Sydney to Adelaide drive. The Motor Inn is just halfway. When we arrived the room was airconditioned cool on a hot day. Was great! Had a quiet and comfortable stay and well rested.
Certainly value for money. Booked via Qantas Accomodation using points.Highly recommend this Motor Inn.

On our family trip from Sydney to Adelaide, booked the Bishop's Lodge for an overnight stay... Surprise, to say the least! Family room - spacious, clean, kitchenette has a fridge and a microwave, decent speed WiFi.
Location - very convenient.
Restaurant on premises - very good choice for such a location, fabulous service, sane prices.
Most definitely recommended, if you're in the area.

Had a night stopover while passing through. Staff were friendly and accommodating. A great hotel. Rooms were spacious and very clean and comfortable. Family room had everything we needed, would definitely stay again and recommend

The people here are just lovely. Very helpful and friendly. The restaurant attached is fully licensed and great food.. Rooms clean and well maintained. Good to have use of a proper hair-dryer instead of a tiny travel one. Iron and iron board in very well maintained state as well.

We highly recommend this motel to everyone! Quiet area, clean, lovely decor, even mirrored wardrobe! We have been to a few motels in our travels, and this is definitely the best! Reasonable price too!

I have now stayed three times in the last couple of months and will drive the extra time to stay at the Bishop’s Lodge, which to my mind is the best hotel in the region. Firstly, owners Doug and Mel are most welcoming and friendly. Rooms are modern, clean, warm and well appointed, plus quiet! This is my go to across the Hay Plain. I can not recommend high enough.

My family and I stayed at this hotel. The staff were exceptional, really nice to talk to and had excellent knowledge of the area. The room was very well appointed, very clean and modern. The swimming pool was clean and well maintained and also had a great spa. Great location and plenty of space in the large parking space. Would definitely recommend. 5 stars

Stayed at this motel in Hay on my way home from Northern NSW. Service is great as is the restaurant and food. The rooms are well maintained I was given two rooms for my six guests. One room was more modern and had bathroom redone which was lovely.
Only issue is with pillow was a bit to low for my liking but I was so tired I just slept. For a overnight stay to rest on a long drive between SA and NSW this place is great everything you need.

We have been on the road for 3weeks and have stayed at 8 motels this one is by far the best motel we have stayed at. We rang and booked our room 1 hour before arriving and Dianne the manager turned on the heaters in our room. The Rooms are spotless and beautifully presented. thoroughly recommend this motel.

The best place in town to stay, excellent country hospitality and great service. I had come to the lodge as a 4 day business trip. see the following for my breakdown of review:

Staff: Owners were incredibly friendly and kind, nothing was too hard for them to assist me with. The cleaning staff are friendly and helpful also never showed any annoyance to requests made.

Cleanliness: The rooms were extremely clean, (in my job it required a clean room to prevent my client from getting an infection, i went to wipe down furniture with antibacterial wipes and there was nothing, sounds extreme i know!!), but everything was super and spotless, clean and fresh smelling.

comfort: We found the Queen room very comfortable and well provided for, we had a little kitchenette which served our purposes and a mini bar fridge. The rooms had blinds that were day and night blinds. The rooms were not dark, if you require it to sleep in the morning. The highway is beside the lodge but was not bad at all.

The Beds !!!!!... 5/5 for comfort, I can vouch that the beds were super comfortable, well the singles anyways, my clients said they had a great sleep and thought the beds were very comfortable.

Other: There is a swimming pool on the premises and play equipment for kids
I loved that there was a laundry that was part of your stay, which was free to use. this was so convenient for me to help my clients.
There was a fully licenced restaurant that was soon to re-open it looked amazing, would make an excellent place for a conference room. The lodge would be a great choice for a business venue which could cater for, accommodation, food, and conference needs. There was a pub the next street over if you wanted to walk to somewhere else for drinks and a meal.

i would highly recommend Bishops Lodge as your place to stay, we certainly will be back to visit again and enjoy the hospitality they have to offer.

Hint: Call the lodge instead of using accommodation booking sites, they offer lower prices and same offer of pay at accommodation choice.

Thank you for a lovely and peaceful place to rest on our way to Orange. The pool was fantastic just what we needed.

80 Mbps wifi is enough for 5 stars almost on its own, but the rooms were also as clean and as modern as any 5 star hotel I've ever stayed. The entertainment system was the best one I've seen anywhere. Shame the dining room wasn't open, but I guess you can't have absolutely everything.

I loved my stay in the Motel. Both Dough and Mel were great hosts, who take pride in providing great customer service. They welcomed us as they would welcome their family to their home. The room was neat and tidy and we slept comfortably. We will certainly go back !

Great place to stay, we booked for two adults and two children. Perfect size for us as a family of four, kids had their own room. Television in both bedrooms. Very clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend and we will stay definitely stay again.
