Yakiniku Don (Kumadon) Liverpool

Yakiniku is a Japanese grilled meat located inside Westfield shopping centre. If you’re looking for a quality and affordable Japanese meal, yakiniku Don offers just that. This store has been around for many years, however the menu has slightly changed for the better. The prices have been reduced, but still offering quality food.

There’s 6 donburi’s to choose which includes the grilled meat & rice in a bowl:
1. Angus beef
2. Wagyu beef (my favourite)
3. Teriyaki chicken
4. Grilled eel
5. Wagyu beef tongue
6. Wagyu harami

The bowls come in regular, extra meat and double meat sizes. Combo options available if you wish to add side dish or drink.

If you like the smokiness of the grilled meat, you will love yakiniku. The beef is thinly sliced, tastes amazing and one of the most affordable cuisine you’ll fine at the foodcourt.

Ordered food off UberEats. Anything was delicious with god actually exceeding my expectations. I was a bit skeptical at first at I had never tried their food but I was amazed at the quality and just the taste of all the ingredients. Nothing tasted off, every ingredient complemented each other very well. Their prices are very reasonable and they are also halal which is definitely a very big plus.

The Angus Beef Donburi was sooo delicious and satisfying. I also highly recommend trying the Karubi Hand Cut Donburi Bowl. The meat is sooo tender and I loved the combination with the onsen egg😍😍 The staff here were super sweet as well 🫶

love the bbq beef rice here 😋😋The beef has very decent smoking bbq flavour, the rice is also firm and tender but not too soft and it has a yummy bbq dressing on top, the poached egg here is to die for 😋😋. You wont go wrong with this place

• It locates in the food court of Westfield. It is a small shop so you might find it a bit hard to spot. A tip is to look for Subway, Malatang and it is right next to them, same line.

• They have shared tables in the food court. I think it is convenient as usually not really crowded in the are.

• Their service is absolutely efficient, even though there are just a few staffs. Sometimes, the front staff is busy, so you should call them instead of waiting for their attention.

• Their servings are pretty sufficient. If you are a bit eater, may not enough, but just a quick lunch, surely enough for your stomach. No matter you eat in or take away, your order is packed as takeaway.

• I do like my order. It is not salty like other Japanese restaurant I have tried. It tastes just good! However, I wish they could have bit more pickle and vegetable. Personally, Japanese rice is best when you mix everything together.
Update: I came back to try their signature. Ordered double meat portion and miso soup. It is huge! Like more beef than rice. I'm so so full after it!!

• Price here can be a pricey for some people. But it is worth giving a try if possible.

In general, it is great to find such a good Japanese restaurant in the food court of Westfield! Definitely will come back and try other bowls.

Best rice bowls in the area, highly recommended. Dishes are all cooked fresh and meat is melt in your mouth! Great friendly customer service, might be my favourite food stall in Liverpool Westfield 👍

This is the wrong address for Yakiniku Don/ Kumadon Liverpool. You should search for Yakiniku Don instead. Kumadon was its old name.
Located in the food court of Westfield Liverpool, this Japanese restaurant offers great variety of don (rice bowl). We tried their signature beef don which was very flavourful. The beef was soft and juicy. Price is cheap. We also tried the ox tongue don which was a bit tough. Not really recommended. Signature beef don was much better in value.
Customer service was great though. The staffs were really friendly and accommodating. The owner/manager was super nice too.
Overall, recommended especially the no 1 and 2 don.

The food is very good for its price, with the most basic item going for only $5 but still very good. I just wish that the chefs would listen to the special requests because I like my meat burnt but they've only ever followed this request once. It can be a bit bland sometimes too. But other than that this place is gold!

Got severe food poisoning from the wagyu beef bowl which looked nothing like the picture . The rice was so gluggy & the beef was discoloured. That should have been the warning sign.

I am a regular customer of Yakiniku Don and usually enjoy their food at their restaurant inside Westfield.
However, due to my work schedule, I needed to order online through Menulog.

Unfortunately, my requests to order food through Menulog have been declined five times over the past three weeks, which has been frustrating.

Despite my disappointment, I must acknowledge that the staff at Yakiniku Don are always friendly and nice to their customers.

It is surprising that they would decline my order so many times instead of taking the necessary actions to remove their store from Menulog.

Overall, while I appreciate the quality of their food, the poor service has left a negative impression. It is important for businesses to prioritise their customers and provide them with a hassle-free ordering experience.

Until Yakiniku Don improves their customer service, I would hesitate to recommend them to others if you are ordering online.
