Sunshine Cycles - Byron Bay Town Centre Pod

Wow wow wow! Do yourself a favour, hire one of these bikes for half a day and have an adventure around Byron Bay! This is only way to do Byron!!! We rode up to the lighthouse for a sunset picnic and had the most amazing afternoon. The bikes just powered up the hill so easily, so comfy, so much fun, so easy. Thanks guys, epic afternoon!

The bikes are very easy to drive, you can set the settings to suit your pace and just head off for a day of fun! We hired the BIkes from Sunshine Cycles in May so we could explore the area without having to worry about finding a car park multiple times. We went to the Pod at the caravan park by the Footbridge in Brunswick Heads (Terrace Reserve Caravan Park). My 68 year old Dad and my Brother road down the fire track by the beach and all over the area. It was such a great way to explore Brunswick Heads and see the beauty of the River, Beach and the bush. I highly recommend enhancing your visit to the area with hiring these bikes. Go for a picnic, stop at the beach or river and finish off at the Pub. My Dad had the best time on them and was so happy that we did something different.

Our family of 4 hired 4 ebikes to fill in a chilly afternoon in Byron. The staff were great and really helpful. The bikes were really new, in great condition and super easy to use. They also looked very cool and were so much fun, particularly when we picked up speed. We rode up to the Lighthouse and cruised around town. Will definitely use this service again!

I have hired these bikes every time I go to Byron. The app is a bit glitchy, but once your have it loaded it is super easy the next time. I love the bikes, they are chunky and super retro. Thank you!

Super cool and ride super smoothly. I love the high speed and that you can set a certain speed, felt like cruise control just on a bike. Will definitely be hiring another bike in the near future !!

Sunshine Cycles is a MUST DO when in Byron Bay. This was a highlight of our trip and being able to cruise around on the bikes and sightsee made our experience so much more enjoyable. The team at Sunshine cycles went above and beyond with service which made it even more memoriable. Do it, you won’t regret it!

While we were in Byron for a month in September we enjoyed the bikes so much we took them out 5 times! Great gear, and great value made these bikes our fave activity of our holiday. Highly recommend heading to Severn Mile beach for a picnic lunch via Broken Head nature reserve. We did this one twice. (Don't go on a weekend). We also did a trip to Bangalow (take the back road). Also highly recommend hiring from the pod at Brunswick. Take the Coolamon Scenic Drive to Mullambimby. There's a nice coffee shop there. The trail north from here is also great. Head up through New Brighton and South Golden Beach to get onto the Tweed Coast Rd to Pottsville.

Right from downloading the app to riding all the way up to the lighthouse the experience was seamless. Luke and he’s team were incredibly helpful, will be back next time we’re in Byron highly recommend!!

These bikes are such a fun way to explore Byron Bay. The service was second to none I can highly recommend. Such a nice guy too very helpful.

A tour up to the lighthouse on these bikes are a must do in Byron we had so much fun and Tim our tour guide was so friendly and easy going he showed us parts of Byron we wouldn't of seen without him ...Soo much fun ..

Easy, cheap & enjoyable way to get around.
Star lost on the fact that once bike is selected & meant to be "unlocked" so you can commence your ride, if bike is faulty & won't unlock, you need to call assistance-find number online, (couldn't find any numbers on the shed) you get charged for the bike you couldn't use.
$72/day is a great deal.

Claims to be open until 7:30. Reserved a bike for $5, got to the bike locker at 6 pm and we can not access them. You have to pay money on the app before renting the bikes. no support on the app, phone is disconnected and no way of contacting for a refund. Go to the bikes before you pay so you don’t waste your money like we did.

Company very likely not in operation but still taking money through app.

Not one to write reviews but don't want people to make same mistake. I paid for a pass for $30 for month, keen to use bikes for my few days in Byron after reading reviews. I walked everywhere on the map they said the pods for bikes were and individual bikes. 2 didn't exist. 1, the main hub on Bayshore Drive was closed up at 10.30am on a Tuesday when their opening hours said 9am to 7pm. Nothing anywhere.

Sent messages and multiple emails to company. 2 days later my emails were bounced back multiple times from their only email to contact.... Never heard anything back, will be trying to get my money back now through bank dispute. App is a bit dogey and no clear information so be careful and avoid putting card details in if they still aren't operating.
