Lovely foods and nice coffee, the customer service was nice too.
My friend and I have stopped here (on the way to Mount Victoria) for breakfast today (24/05/2024), he had orange marmalade on toast, and I had banana bread, we also had cappuccino coffee. My banana bread was good, just a bit burnt on the edge. I tried a little bit of orange marmalade on toast from my friend's and it was really really good. My friend said that this cafe has been here for a very long time and it was named as Blue Tongue Lizard long time ago and he has always liked the orange marmalade on toast here.

What a great little hidden gem. I would not of known to stop here unless my friend suggested it. Not a large selection in the menu which I prefer, then you know they focus on doing what they do well. Service was very attentive. Food was yummy, atmosphere nice and the premises clean. Will be back for sure.

Another great find off the Highway! One block back from the Great Western Highway is this fabulous Cafe. The food was delicious and the service friendly and attentive. The price was right and you could actually have a conversation as there was no loud music playing. Well worth a stop.

Only been here once but super friendly staff and nice atmosphere.
My partners almond croissant was delicious and my banana bread came with an interesting espresso butter, very nice! Coffees were good too.

They have a relatively small breakfast/brunch menu but they’re all very nice! Got the monsieur Benny and brunch burger - which were both really good. Loved the toast (think and very fluffy in the middle but nice and crunch on the edges) and hollandaise in monsieur Benny. The bacon jam in the brunch burger was just the best. To top it all off - the coffee was perfect!

Delicious and efficient.
I popped in here to grab some vegan take away and they delivered!
I had one of the most delicious chai lattes I've had in a while; perfectly spiced and not sweet. Plus the pulled jackfruit toastie with lotus chips, both were delicious. The food came out quickly and the girls behind the counter were all very helpful and lovely.

Lovely food and exceptional service. Definitely the best cafe in Glenbrook (despite what visitors might think this is the true local favourite) ❤

Absolutely sensational
And the guy making coffee very polite
All the ladies are extremely polite and helpful
Will absolutely advertise this place to central coast people and all my clients
Thanks guys
Even though I’ve had weight loss surgery and this was a smaller meal still couldn’t eat it all and it was a large meal
Thanks

We were heading up to the Blue Mountains and my little brother recommended paying a visit to Kickaboom, Glenbrook, at the foot of the Mountains.
The cafe is a trendy little spot, just a small cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. The town has a good community feel to it and this was emulated through the warm and friendly staff in the cafe. Owned by locals, we’re sure they understand the demographic well. We appreciated they didn’t mind us sitting for a while after we’d finished, socialising with our family. Too often cafes these days are eager to fill your spot.
Whilst they have a good range of food, it’s clear they’re all about the coffee. We even hear that owner Dylan once placed 2nd in the NSW Barista Championships and even worked at one of our favourites, the Paramount Coffee Project in Surry Hills, later als winnint the Australian Aeropress Competition! That said, we knew we were in for a coffee treat.
I enjoyed a generous long glass of cold brew, a quality drop, whilst my family opted for the milk based coffees, the cafe using Rueben Hills beans and ethically sourced products. They have filter coffee, butterscotch lattes, chai, specialty teas and sodas too if you’re keen for something a little different.
Food wise, we found the menu to be inspired and certainly interesting, though probably not the best for the waistline. Salt and Vinegar Lotus Chips, cheesy Potato balls, sticky pork bibimbap or banana bread and butter French toast all sounded extremely appealing! We tried a few other dishes; the Spam and Cheese toastie was pretty damn good and we really liked the house made spiced ham with “nana’s relish”, triple cheese on sourdough.
We also had the beetroot and avo smash, poached eggs and also the sesame chia granola bowl. The chia pudding mix had a really lovely sesame flavour to it and it was topped with granola. I was expecting this to be a healthy dish, but it was a bit sweet for me with the tahini caramel and candied granola mix.
The cafe do a special “liquorice Banana bread”, with the liquorice mix blended in before baking which we’d have to try next time. They sell baked goods like butter bing cookies and soft serve.
A nice cafe to visit on day trip out. Be sure to appreciate the care that has clearly gone into curating an interesting menu with a lot of sodas, flavours and items made in house.
NB I love the acknowledgement to country, prime place on the front page of the menu

Always spectacular coffee, brilliant service, and a menu of tasty treats and meals, they are my favourite in the lower mountains. Kickaboom excels at quick service without compromising quality, and their unique speculatte and liquorice bread are divine.

chance discovery while strolling, quiter environment than some larger places on other side of street.

fried chicken, charred corn slaw, honey mustard dressing, dill pickles on a cheese & shallot waffle - different and delicious, $26 but a very good experience. friendly efficient staff too.

Kickaboom is without a doubt our favourite café in Glenbrook. Came in with family members for a special breakfast on 11th April 2021 and Renee and the other staff members went to a lot of trouble to put us at our ease and serve us quickly with the Yummy food we have come to love at Kickaboom! The breakfast burgers were amazing this time as was the cheese toasty. We are still loving the colours on our plates and the amazing coffee! Seriously. Coffee lovers need to visit. Dairy free options too. :)No wonder it is packed on weekends !

I have indoctrinated my whole family. Don't miss it!

Just stopped by Kickaboom for lunch and had the best experience. The guy who seated and served me was lovely and gave me great recommendations and all the staff were so nice! The food and coffee were both on point and the vibe was so light and welcoming. Well done!

So many incredible things to mention about Kickaboom. Stopped at the recommendation of our Airbnb host, and she will get an additional star for suggesting it! The service is phenomenal. The Licorice bread - so good I ordered an extra slice to go before leaving.
The crispy potatoes were the fluffiest on the inside, crispiest on the outside, most perfectly seasoned potatoes I’ve ever had. The main brekky was perfect - toast, poached eggs, kale and hollandaise sauce. I’m sad we’re not going home through Glenbrook because I’d eat there again in a heartbeat!

Amazing cafe in the perfect stop over village of Glenbrook. Amongst a bunch of great looking cafes this one stands out. Rueben Hills Coffee. Fried chicken option with most meals. Delicious. House made soft serve. Worth a stop off on your way over the mountains.

Nice pleasant lunch at kickaboom with group of 3 seated outside. I had the gado gado with chicken and it was okay. Just my take but I felt like it could’ve been improved with more sauce or something as each component was fresh but otherwise bland even when eaten together. Still would recommended as my friends had the avo miso smash and spam & cheese toastie and both enjoyed those.

I reviewed this place when it first opened and gave it a 3 saying I thought it had potential and I am glad to say it has improved in every aspect that I originally criticised it for. The service is friendly and it's obviously a top pick with locals as the barista knows half the people coming in by name. The food I ordered came out promptly and looked fantastic. It was an absolute feast for the eyes, and the mouth i'm happy to say. There is a real intelligence to the food offering an interesting twist on classics, that is still very yummy. The coffee was fantastic, if I'm grabbing just a coffee in Glenbrook this will be my new go to. Loved it. Love the look to, it's simple but nice and has a very clean kitchen. Keep up the great work guys!
