The picnic table area is the best kept secret in Ipswich. Tucked away amidst the quiet of the surrounding bush, you have your pick of spots and it's so lovely and quiet! I had a get together with some of the girls and everyone enjoyed themselves. For families, there's playground equipment in the middle and for those who require disability access to the picnic table area, you can drive down and park from that road that runs along the conservation estate from the hospital- the name escapes me now. If you're walking, start from the top where the Water tower is, because it's a fun little excursion and there's a bush track that leads all the way down. Wear grippy shoes.

Marvellous place to go for a brisk walk about 1 kilometre from Ipswich CBD ! In the past it’s had a variety of uses including a dump and cold mine. It’s been an environmental park since 1979 and group of local residents are rehabilitating it to its pristine condition
There’s reminders of the mining past with bits of railway tracks and a coal mining heap. There’s fantastic views across to mt Crosby from Chelmsford avenue side! Unfortunately at the moment there’s no access up the water tower but ground viewing still provides good access across the city

Beautiful place to walk. Dogs allowed on lead. Plenty of wildlife. Jurassic covered area for kids which shows the fossils which were found in the park. Plenty of different sized walks to take. Toilets and water fountain near car park. Lots of tables and chairs + barbeque area at beginning of park and easily reachable from the car park.

First time visit - amazing to find a park reserve so close to Ipswich city!
BBQ picnic areas, playground for the kids, delightful walking trails.
Well worth some exploring!
A reminder that the gates close at 6pm each night.

We took our kids for a walk and play today for Father's Day. It was very nice and clean. Well presented park with plenty to do. The nature bush walks were lovely too - although some signage missing or needing to be put up to make the different tracks easier to navigate. We did Bluey's Circuit and Water fall. The waterfall circuit was able to be done with a pram despite the stairs as the stairs are very long and easy to pop the pram up each step.

Great place to walk and explore, we took our Grandsonshere when they were younger in the hope we might see a dinosaur on our way to Turrassic Park, plenty to see and do even huge inprints of the footprints as well as walk through the skeleton of a huge prehistoric predator, information about the site everywhere.
Then for a walk around the Quarry beautiful, so onwards and upwards to the water tower and the winding steps leading all the way to the top of the tower with outstanding views of Ipswich and surrounding cities, as well as historic landmarks.
Special place for us all as not only a journey but the storytelling made up during our walks, such wonderful and unforgettable memories.

The views from the water tower lookout are stunning. Signs and maps show the different mountains and places you can see. Further down on the walking trails are fossils from the Triassic period - real fossils in the middle of Ipswich. heaps of seats along the way and picnic area with toilets. Easy walks and close parking.

On top of the hills which overlook Ipswich, you'd never know you're in the centre of town. Peaceful woods riddled with walking tracks. Plenty of picnic tables and clean toilets.
