Mordeo Pasta & Panini Bar

I’ve visited this cafe about a dozen times and have always been impressed with their food and service. They serve an excellent breakfast. The place is always busy in the morning. While you wait for your coffee to be made you can watch staff prepare the pasta for lunch. Chairs and tables located opposite this cafe. Great atmosphere.

A popular restaurant for both lunch, dinner and drinks, with a largely corporate crowd. It is located in the outside covered area of the Deutsche Bank building, with both indoor and covered outdoor seating under the ‘big mushroom’ lights. The food was excellent (especially the pizza) and a real gem for this end of the CBD.

Mordeo's eggplant ragu is the best pasta I have ever eaten. Whenever I'm in Sydney, I try and find an excuse to come back!

I am so glad I’ve found this place. Handmade pasta (made fresh every day) and big, delicious looking sandwiches. Prices range between about $13-$18. Portion sizes are generous. Today I tried the prawn linguine and it was delicious! My friend had the eggplant parpadelle and loved it. I fully intend to work my way through every item on the menu over the next few months.

I made a large group (31 people) for a staff reunion on a Friday night. I had organised a set menu prior to the event and Vivian was a wonderful help leading up to the day. The service was excellent and the food was fantastic. Everyone enjoyed their meal. They had to change the shared entrees at the last minute but what they substituted was fantastic, no complaints at all. We were able to pay for drinks as you go which was great as any non-drinkers were not footed with an alcohol bill at the end. The wait staff checked on us regularly so no one was waiting too long for drinks. Thanks so much to Vivian and her team.

Simply for their Gabriel blend of coffee this is an ideal spot for a coffee any time of the day. Simple breakfast options are always tasty & fresh, also nice pastries. Great selection of pasta dishes for lunch, have tried several & all very good. Medium size portions but full of flavour.

This is a slick, modern city lunch option, recently renovated and amped up in style. It also makes a great spot for afternoon/evening drinks and dinner with colleagues.

The food is excellent and, most importantly, they make a very good coffee! It's fun watching them making fresh pasta each morning, as you wait for your coffee ...

Incredible fresh made pasta at very reasonable prices, served by very friendly staff. Highly recommend. Mostly corporate clientele,plus keep in mind they add $2 to every dish if dine in.

Ordering my coffee in the morning I observed the chefs making fresh pasta with their hands and instantly had a craving for pasta.

I returned at lunch and it has become my regular weekday venue. The selection of pasta and panini is perfect; I love the service and friendly nature of the staff and theres never a delay in getting your pasta fresh and intense with flavour.

Being a pasta lover and having searched the CBD for pasta eateries I finally found my home.

Price point is amazing. Friendly staff.

2 June 2016, I came back and tasted Parpadelle Eggplant Ravi ($13): awesome.

We initially did not expect much from this place, but it is by far the best pasta in the CBD! We always get the Beef Ragu and the Carbonara. There is something particularly special about the taste and texture of the Beef Ragu that is hard to describe. Another surprising feature is the classy location within the Deutsche Bank building - you get the same high ceilings and water feature as the 'fancier' Mordeo Bistro next door.

Good coffee and toastie, but gave up a star for not printing the tax invoice that I asked for, was told "no problem" and then when I asked for it again as the guy was taking another order from another customer was told "you didn't ask for it".

Edit: OK, fifth star awarded for good customer service by the owner responding to the review. Thanks - I did eventually get it on the day - it's just they didn't deliver great customer service at the time.

I have only just discovered this gem of a Sydney bar - slick, world-class and superb service that is simply second-to-none. Against an imposing backdrop of what must be the most stunning atrium in the country Mordeo manages to achieve a unique intimacy - and the soft grooves of the live music on my most recent visit completed the mood to perfection. I can't recommend it highly enough.

This place should be commended. We were out "shopping" and came across this amazing sandwich Bar. No way did I think this place could cater for coeliac's/celiacs, but boy was I wrong. The place had a dedicated area for gf prep, and the panini was absolutely mouth watering! And the price?!?! Cheapest meal we had in Rome. It looked to be a local place, not touristy at all. Food was amazing. If your out near the Spanish steps, grab a panini from here!

After lock down for months so miss this place,
Beef ragu pasta and Coffee always on the top of quality.
Service also great, mel always give a smile greet.

Last night I found a piece of Southern Europe hiding in Wynyard- Mordeo.

Live music, indulgent hospitality and the best food I've ever had (at a reasonable price), prompted me to write this review.

If you haven't been, you're missing out.

Absolutely adore the fresh pasta. Lunch is superb AND can take fresh pasta & ingredients home. Makes fantastic home pasta dishes.
