Sonja's Bed and Breakfast

We stayed 5 nights ,Shaun wasn't around and Kelly was doing it all herself with the help of Sue .It was one of the best places I've stayed at even the pillow was comfortable which is rare.The management are nice people. Can't fault the place. Its a bit down the end of town but isn't far from the IGA supermarket and a hardware store that sells just about everything and its prices are good.

Very cosy well-run little place at the edge of town, having said that town is very small so the edge is not far from everything else and it’s nice to be away from the main road.

Excellent value for money, very friendly owners, would recommend getting the granny flat out the back coz it’s the cutest.

This is where we will stay if we return to Lightning Ridge.

If I could give more stars, I would! Very well presented. Gardens and outdoor area 20/10. Immaculate a self-contained air con room with own bathroom/toilet and a little kitchenette with a bar fridge and microwave and privacy. Will be adding more photos of the property. Most of all, it doesn't break the bank. Highly recommended!!! I'm 24 days and 11,000kms in around Australia, and this is 1 of the best.

I felt very comfortable at Sonja’s Place on my recent trip to Lightning Ridge. Shaun makes a great breakfast and was amazingly helpful with information about the area he obviously loves. The room was spotlessly clean (thanks Sue!) and had everything you need, including very effective air conditioning. I’m so glad I chose Sonja’s Place and highly recommend it to anyone.

Our room was very comfortable, the towels are so soft and bed very cosy. Great air conditioning, much needed in summer.
Shaun was very helpful with tourist information, and checked on us during our stay. The accommodation is in a quiet area of town. Inside fence parking, clean neat garden. Highly recommend

Beautiful place, close to the center of town. Shaun is a very kind, organized and attentive host. His interest in people's health is interesting. The place is clean and tidy. The wonderful Sue who maintains everything is very meticulous and kind, ready to help and do everything to make the guests satisfied. Thank you for the wonderful hosting and I would highly recommend it to everyone who wants to rest away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Thank you.

We had a great stay at this B&B! Sonja was a great host and made us feel welcome and comfortable. She cooked a large and tasty breakfast for us all, and was very helpful when it came to local information, booking us into opal mine tours and tables at local restaurants. The rooms were clean, bright and comfortable. Would stay again!

We had a lovely stay at Sonja's this past weekend. The room was very clean and well equipped. We had a great night's sleep the bed was very comfortable. Sonja was incredibly accommodating, couldn't fault a thing!

5 Stars for the helpful staff when I was unable to complete the stay due to flooding.
Dealing with the booking company was a pain in the A...! but dealing with Sonja's staff was a blessing. They went above and beyond to help me with my situation. Looking forward to actually staying here in 2023

An excellent place to stay.
Rooms are tidy, very comfortable & quiet.
I love the tranquil garden. A great choice in plants & bird feeders which attract all sorts of butterflies & birds.

I had the pleasure of staying at Sonja's BnB during my 3 weeks work period at Lightning Ridge.
Sonja is a warm wonderful person, really helpful in all aspect and with an extensive local knowledge.

Amazing thus is a home away from home & the room is excellent this might be our 1st night but it’s a major hit the room feels luxurious and is exceptionally clean & tidy we would highly recommend Sonja our wonderful host is also lovely & very welcoming I’d definitely recommend anyone to come stay here you get a sense of belonging & the other guests are so worldly it’s nice to share where we come from thank you thank you what a beautiful bed n breakfast 5 star ⭐ thank you from Lilly & domonic

This was a good place to stay. Clean and comfortable. The bed was excellent. We also enjoyed watching the night sky from the special viewing platform.

Room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. Sonja was very helpful and gave us some good advice about what to see and where to eat. Highly recommend.
