Best Japanese place ever in my Newcastle life 😍
My partner suggested to try this place, he’s very picky and so strict with food.

Ended up we are very happy to try this place even the staff is super nice. We love your food and will definitely come back 🤍🤍🤍🤍

So lucky to have stumbled upon this hidden gem!
We were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff and made to feel comfortable! The store doubles as a restaurant and grocery store, so we had a quick look at all the Japanese snacks and cooking ingredients in display. Although the interior is small and there isn’t too much space to sit and dine in (many customers were getting takeaway).
The food was delicious, warming and authentic. I enjoyed the okayudon, while others in our party had the curry udon and chicken Katsu don. Thumbs up to all of these choices! I’d also highly recommend the Agedashi tofu - it was steaming warm and delicious served in the salty soy sauce.

I’ve been here on 4 different occasions - weekdays & weekends. The ramen has never disappointed and the flavours have always been consistent and full.

2 x miso ramen & 2 x drinks (japenese soda & iced tea) and the total came to $39.90. It’s well priced and always relatively quiet when I’ve gone so food is usually out within 5-10 minutes and the atmosphere is relaxing.

Most delicious Ramen (Shoyu) in Newcastle and so affordable. Highly recommend over the larger chains.
Also ordered the Teryaki chicken for the first time and is delicious!
Stumbled across this gem on Uber Eats and is my new go to!

Great Japanese meal options, served very quickly. The grocery is good too, we grabbed some frozen mochi for dessert.

Lovely staff and such, such awesome food!! The cooks here are from japan and the taste is so authentic at reasonable prices! The Grocery has plenty of imported Japanese food and spices aswell, highly reccomend!

Me and my girlfriend both got the miso ramen and could not believe how delicious it was, highly rate this place

Don't let the unassuming appearance deceive you, this restaurant has delicious authentic japanese food and friendly service, highly recommend.

Just dropped in on the spur of the moment and glad we did. The tempura veggies were great and very reasonably priced.

Excellent ramen. I had Kitami Ramen and the soup was simply divine, down to last drop. A quality I didn't expect so far from Tokyo. Atmosphere is very, very homey: a charm by itself to me.

Having had Ramen around the world....Kitami in Carrington is quite authentic. They don't have the traditional Tonkotsu Ramen, but their pork broth ramen is fantastic. Cheap and friendly. Recommend

I come from a place that has allot of china towns and I’ve had allot of authentic Asian food. This place captured exactly that and even more, the culture and feeling you get when you walk inside make the meals a total and joyful experience. Thank you kitami your staff were so kind, I’ll be coming back for my ramen fix for sure, thank you !

Best tasting ramen I've had in a long time. Great little gem and worth the visit. Highly recommend and definitely will be coming back again.

I absolutely love this place!!! My favourite in all of Newcastle. I always order the Tempura Prawn, which comes with this amazing crunchy tempura seaweed.. 🍤 🤤

Can't get enough, give these guys a go. I was sad the hear one of their restaurants had closed after lockdowns, so support their beautiful fresh food in Carington if you can (available on Uber Eats too).

Really great flavours. All meals great. Ordered Katsu curry, teriyaki, and shoyu ramen. Second time ordering from here and all meals perfect each time. Grocery is great too, with some extra flavours in Ramune and Pocky that I haven't seen in Newcastle elsewhere.

Nice home made Japanese food.
I went here most days for lunch when I was in the area.
Oyako don is a nice filling dish that comes with miso soup.
Also handy that they sell a few groceries as well.

A great Japanese restaurant with delicious and authentic food, and a nice selection of products for sale as well. Highly recommended!
