I am regular customer who works downstairs. This is my only place for lunch if I don’t pack my lunchbox from home. Firstly the Malatang has many choice for non-spicy eater and very tasty and fresh. Secondly they always friendly serving. Today I had a little accident pumped into another customer right after I pick up my food. It was HOT! The waiter immediately noticed and invited me to my go back to the water tap and raise for cooling. I decline because of limited lunch break time. What surprising he take me a big container with icy water to my table! What a thoughtful and caring service! Later on, he afraid the water no longer cool he brought a cold drink for me! This is the service far beyond the expectation! I really appreciate his care! I will definitely recommend to anyone!

I’ve been eating at Macquarie Center since it opened back in 2019, now 4 years later I’m still in love with Peppercorn Kitchen. Awesome food, never had any issues whatsoever, great service. Keep it up people!!

Food variety and service have been the best among all three locations. Personal preference is bone soup > sesame mix > Spicy mix. Frozen tofu and fried dough stock are worth trying.

Just recently discovered this gem in my local Westfield. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the food was.

The concept is simple- you choose from the selection of vegetables, meats, seafood and different fish, seafood and meat balls. Then you take it to the counter and you pay by the weight.

For $17 per 500gms, you get to select the soup base and they cook it for you. The best was the malatang soup base, a beef bone based soup. You can have a vegetarian option too.

Since discovering it a few weeks ago, we've been there at least 4 times. It's that good!

A very good place to have some hot dishes with the ingredients you can chose yourself.
They will weight the items you’ve selected and then charge $15 per 500grams.
The default broth is so tasty and perfectly matching the ingredients offered.
Seating is available enough.
Electronic payments will attract surcharge of 1% per transaction.

So glad this has come to Hornsby. Choose your ingredients and style of soup - the ingredients are well labeled. I would suggest the meats, lobster balls, shiitake mushroom, beef balls. Soup has to be malatang with a lot of peanut sauce, some garlic, and very little chilly.

It's definitely one of the best serving Malatang style coconut and chicken soup in the area.
Sometimes, they run out of the soup, so just check with them before you fill your bowl.

So fresh and delicious. By far the best malatang and great vegetarian options. Tomato soup base is 10/10

I go between this and the Macquarie branch weekly. It was really busy today but I sat by the counter and witnessed the surprisingly pleasant service. Shau was efficient, he was dashing between taking orders, ducking into the kitchen and cleaning tables, and still managed to remain VERY polite to all the patrons - apparently a difficult feat if previous service at both branches is anything to go by! I also appreciated that he greeted everyone in english, only switching to mandarin if first spoken by the patron. In contrast, being asian, it's rather annoying when service staff assume you speak mandarin, which I have found was generally the default at Peppercorn.

Good food too, great value, delicious signature malatang broth.

Perfect hot pot on a cold day. If you know what you want to put in the bowl, this place is awesome! But for that, might need to try it a few times. And once you have figured it out, you will never have to look back. Love this place! So happy that they are here at Hornsby.

This place sometimes gets too crowded but it's worth the wait. Good Chinese food served fresh. Since we can choose our own ingredients and they give vegetarian options, I loved this place.

Honest tasty and good food. Plenty of fresh options and malatang soup base is delicious. To top it off, Tom, behind the counter, is an attentive and friendly chap. Recommend it!

Great new place. Offers Asian soup, where you get to chose what to put in it, out of a nice selection of seafood, noodles and vegetables. Excellent service.
