Gatehouse Tea Rooms

I've had high tea here twice now and it's fantastic! Loved it both times! The building is old and fun and the flowers outside are so pretty. The service is friendly and efficient without being annoyingly intrusive. The scones were our favourites but everything was very tasty.

Just Charming, the old sandstone cottage is surrounded by a small garden at the edge of the Parramatta park which creates the perfect setting for high tea in this area. Staff and owner are very welcoming with a great senses of humor.
There is plenty of in and outdoor seating & they do take bookings. Prices may be a little on the higher side, however we found it well worth it.
If you are lucky you may also get to meet the lovely Bluetongue Lizard that lives under the house which occasionally pops her head out for a Strawberry or two 😉

Love this place! The staff are always welcoming and attentive. Food was fresh and delicious. The scones were fluffy, the quiches were moist, the sandwiches and desserts were delicate. I highly recommend this place for an enjoyable time.

One of my favourite places to take my friends - especially those visiting from overseas or out of town. The service is always excellent and I am a huge fan of their finger sandwiches and homemade treats, plus the coffee and tea are always wonderful. Love also that its one of tge few places in Parramatta with easy parking.

simple but sophisticated, cauliflower soup is a solid choice to warm up these short winter days ⛅ and luckily they smash it with this dish, i loved how smooth it was! i can happily enjoy eating veggies if it's in soup form 😂

i loved the lil scones w generous latherings of jam & cream 🥄 always my favourite part of high tea!

they also offer sandwiches like this loaded BLAT, vegetarian wraps, and freshly baked blueberry muffins as well as an amazing range of coffee and teas! i had the peach iced oolong and it was incredibly enjoyable

Great coffee , menu was a bit shy on options but the meals we picked with add ons were outstanding . Very tasty !!

This place is beautiful!
Nice location just on the outskirts of Parramatta Park, but still super easy to get to. We only had the scones here but they were excellent. The staff were also great and I look forward to trying proper high tea here. Note that it is a little pricey though!

Perfect place for a cup of tea on Sunday afternoon. Go inside, the beautiful crockery and table settings look spectacular against the period furnishings of the gate house building. The high teas look terrific. You are only 100 metres from government house, which was the centre of government for a quarter of a century in the early 19th century.

Been coming to this place for years, and it remains amazing! Truly excellent service, and a great location in Parramatta Park. Pictured is the new breakfast high tea, which was both delicious and very affordable at $29! Can't say enough good things about this place :)

This is my fav place for high tea or devonshire tea. Real scones, real cream, real jam – no 'damper' scones here! Good tea selection. Beautiful surrounds, good service, way better than any 'high tea' offer at hotels in the city.

It's a great place. The food is amazing. If you want to choose a quiet place between the trees in the Park, this place is for you.

Ordered 4 traditional high teas delivered - the food was delicious and plentiful. This is the best value for money high tea in Sydney (and I have tried almost all of them). Nothing lost in the takeaway version - still fresh, everything carefully packed and two cardboard tiers provided for presentation! I hope they continue to offer as a takeaway option even after restrictions are lifted!

GLUTEN FREE HIGH TEA OPTION!! I Pre-ordered on the day and scones were made fresh. Hands down the gluten free scones are the best I have had! Mastered!!

Staff and service were absolutely perfect. Made sure to repeatedly ask us if we had any food or dietary requirements which I appreciated. Lovely lady recommended us the Rose Grey tea and we were not disappointed. Ordered the traditional high tea and upon arrival it looked a bit lacklustre, but upon tasting we were pleasantly surprised at how fresh and tasty everything was. Highlight were the scones! Would go back- delightful local high tea in the West.

We had an amazing experience celebrating our daughters new career. A truly traditional high tea, that looked, tasted, and presented in absolute style. Exceptional service from staff and amazing hospitality from James, and the unexpected but truly appreciated gift. Will definitely be going back for more....

First time having high tea at the Gatehouse, but will definitely come back again! Both traditional and savoury high teas are great and they have wide selection of teas. I LOVE their pastries, honestly much better than a lot other fancier (pricier) high tea places!

We were a party of 8 for High Tea.
Table's were set up outside umbrella's for shade.
Thank you & your lovely staff , nothing was a trouble. We had both Traditional & Savoury selection & enjoyed it all.
Highly recommended.
