Benalla Art Gallery

The Benalla Art Gallery is a hidden gem settled by the river and adjacent to the Botanical Gardens. What could be better than a walk through glorious gardens ending with a tour of Australian art and a good cup of coffee!

A lovely quaint stop on on hot day when in Benalla. The cafe has a sheltered area on the deck to enjoy the view while choosing one of the delicious menu options. The attached gallery is great for a wander while waiting for lunch. The gardens offer nice walks to relax after lunch.

This gallery is wonderful. It’s very well run. There’s always good works on show and interesting exhibitions. We’ve been here three times and loved it each time. The Julie Shiels Exhibition here today was just delightful. Really entertaining. Really clever. Note, the cafe attached to the gallery is tremendous too. It’s a must do for a meal or snack and a coffee.

Really nice building. Really nice architecture. I liked more the architecture, that the exposition, that was about photography. How a digitally world see the high photography today though the nets eyes. A bit paranoia :)

The cafe is in a stunning location over looking the river. There is a modest collection of art and pictures. The building itself looks pretty cool.

Fantastic venue. Gorgeous art. Excellent shop.

Great location for an art gallery really, some amazing works from local artists how ever there are a few really strange and kinda sad and depressed pieces of art here

Well worth the visit and has a cafe overlooking the river.

Another interesting Benalla Art Gallery exhibition highlighting Winton Wetlands and its history. The blend of real visuals, photography and animation made it well worth visiting. The Winton Wetlands Cafe Hub and Indigenous sculpture display is well worth a visit.

Excellent food, great exhibition, a great stop on the road from Melbourne.

Once inside it was inviting, the restaurant/ cafe was popular. A little gift shop had some nice items. We enjoyed the gallery spaces, 3 very different exhibits. Views out over the water. I would come again.

Delightful place to spend a couple of hours. The cafe looks over the river, good food and good service. A stroll around the Gardens is a bonus. The Ledger Exhibition was very enlightening.

Someone really in knows what they are doing.
The most recent acquisitions are worth a trip alone.

Great little gallery with a quality and interesting permanent collection and, when we visited, a room devoted to some fantastic textile work.

Lovely location with birdlife, walks and botanical gardens. Excellent safe area for families and perfect for exercise.

Beautiful place,got a lot of things to do.
