Southern Gateway Centre

A truly lovely, peaceful lookout with Cafe, restaurant, gift shop and clean amenities.
We've been here twice, the view is stunning on a clear day.
We've eaten at both the restaurant and the Cafe and browsed the gift shop.
It's peaceful and unhurried here, though it is busy.
Plenty of parking.

Love this place. We stopped over here while we were going to Wollongong. It has a cafe inside and it's amazing.

One of the best visitor's centre with an amazing ocean views also has public amenities, descent selection of menus from the restaurant with dine in options with limited seating. You can also go for a few lookouts. During the busy period finding a car park can be a little challenging, otherwise great place to stop by ☺

Great spot to stop on the drive south. Superb views over the escarpment, a visitors centre, cafe restaurant and gelato emporium - which was great!

A handy place for a stopover with great views of the coastline. There's toilets of course and a cafe and information centre with souvenirs too. I spoke with a young lady there who was super helpful and provided tips around the area I was travelling to visit.

Excellent visitor centre packed with info to explore the south coast. Staff is super friendly.
The viewing platform is a nice addition, we stopped off on a foggy day so couldn’t see beyond the immediate tree line but the map shows each point visible from the lookout on a clear day.
Good bathrooms and there is also drinks, snacks and gelato available.

The best views over Wollongong and delicious gelato and sorbet, we even saw whales breaching from up here

What an amazing place to stop, an unbelievable view. And the man that work in the coffee shop/restaurant is very polite. Coffee is good and I even get my choc chip muffin warmed up. Thumbs up from me

Beautiful view. Nice ice cream and coffee cafe/restaurant for a day out.

Great spot to stop, easily accessible and you can’t miss it. Expect plenty of amenities such as a cafe, a large restaurant, snacks and pastries, gelato and ice cream, and a great view with plenty of space to walk around. Clean toilets too.

Stopover on a trip down the coast. Popped in for brekky. Quick service, good value, good food and coffee. Great view.

The cafe in the centre has a decent menu, we had coffee n a light meal on my visit. I'll be back!

Great place to viewing north Wollongong and pacific coast.

Amazing lookout place and great cafes.

Splendid birds eye view of Wollongong bay strech. Worth a pit stop when yoh are driving towards wollogong from Sydney. Got parking space, eateries and view deck.

staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about the Illawarra. Some nice souvenirs if that's your thing.

On the main highway, convenient rest stop just an hour south of Sydney. Good facilities, food, toilet and an information centre for travellers.
