Best place in Maclean. Real home made food make by real cooks. Great coffee and welcoming staff. I got a cheese burger and added an extra patty and it’s huuuge! Best burger I’ve had in a long time.

My partner said, 'this is the beat sausage roll - I've ever had!' And that's saying something. He is fussy. I ordered the chicken and leek pastry, and yes it was up there.

Made a quick stop at Maclean on the trip back to Sydney from the Gold Coast. In desparate need of a great coffee and it did not disappoint. Grabbed a home made sausage roll which was delicious.

On our first visit to any Cafe, if available, we'll order a bacon and egg burger, for an easy comparison. I have to tell you, when the burger was served, every part of it was hot - even the bread roll. And it stayed hot until we finished it. I don't know how they did it, but it made the burger even more delicious.

Best cafe in the world highly recommend. Especially the fresh sandwiches so large and fresh.

Nice bacon and eggs, they pouched the eggs very good, nice and soft and good coffee.

The staff were incredibly friendly, bacon and egg rolls were delicious and the coffee was perfect!

Excellent coffee and I like good flavour in my flat white!! Banana bread and apple and berry muffin really fresh and beautiful. Sat inside as a cool morning and a cosy heater kept us warm. Highly recommended by a local and did not disappoint😁

Stopped for a coffee in Maclean as we were travelling and so glad we found the River Cafe.

We stopped at another cafe first but was unable to drink their coffee due to the bitterness and temperature 😢

As we were driving out spotted the River Cafe and the coffee was awesome. We also couldn't resist their cakes and sweets and ultimately settled on a raspberry and ?? "CRUFFIN" 🤣🤣

Sounds funny but was so good...would be keen to see if they do them in other flavours.

It was also a breath of fresh air to see the staff attempting to take a genuine interest in each customer and making them feel genuinely welcome

Will definitely go past again when we are back in town...highly recommended

My wife & I ordered what we thought was a big breakfast each, what we got was an enormous breakfast !!! Seriously, the biggest & best we've ever had. If you're travelling this way we highly recommend you stop & try for yourself. Oh & the coffee is to die for. 👍👍👍

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast of Eggs Benedict and Omelette which was a special request (not on the menu). The staff were very friendly and helpful in every way.

We almost ran out of fuel, so we had to stop in McLean. Boy we were glad we did. Had chicken, Bacon & leak sausage roll...it was amazing! Great coffee and super friendly snd fast service. Putting this one on the list!

Perfect choice for breakfast to fuel us up for a long drive down the coast. Good, hot, strong large coffee in a mug; generous breakfast plates for vegetarian and omnivore alike; and perfectly cooked eggs on all our various options. Bonus: beautiful town setting!
