So peaceful and relaxing. Such a great spot. Close to town but in a very quiet street. Can't wait to come back and stay here again!

Very clean, tidy & homely on arrival, although after driving all day would have been nice to arrive to a warm house in winter. Large home in great location which suited our group of 10. Excellent storage apart from the bedroom with single beds. We were quite disappointed that for the price, for a group of 10 for 5 days expected supplies were minimal ie 2 rolls toilet paper & only 1 bath mat in main bathroom servicing 8, no tissues, not enough dishwashing powder. The firewood was very green causing a lot of smoke through house which may be reason not lit on arrival. (We have a fire at home & know how to manage one) Tried chop smaller & had to buy own wood & more firelighters. Unable to keep slow combustion fire alight despite several attempts ?chimney blocked. Unable to use all trip which was disappointing. Unable to use BBQ as gas ran out within 5 mins cooking breakfast. I note there was another review saying the same. Perhaps having a spare available or checking level prior to group arrival for week in future? Double beds were very small for 2 adults (most doubles are larger than this). Light globe not working lamp main bedroom with no spares. If not for these simple things would have given 5 stars.

Now trading under the name Swallows Rest, it is very poorly maintained and serviced. Falling apart BBQ, no unbroken towel racks. Dodgy half melted burners on the stove. The noisiest clankiest, rattling pipes. It is a terrible example of the broken incentives that make the cheapest construction practices profitable.
