If you want “Indian Indian” Food, No better place than this. We came on recommendation of our friend, all the way from Sydney just to taste food here. I can say it’s worth.
Amazing Food, Butter Chicken is simply awesome.
Chef is very professional and polite.

If I had children I'd probably consider sacrificing them for the butter chicken and cheesy garlic naan. I had the butter chicken with medium spice which had a nice gentle kick. The cheesy garlic naan combined well with the sauce from the butter chicken. The staff were very polite, especially considering how much they were under the pump from all of our orders (16 of us).

A fabulous place to eat, with fresh ingredients. A truly authentic Indian dining experience. Ravi is very welcoming, and you feel more like a family member than simply a diner. Highly recommended.

This modest restaurant is a surprise full of culinary delights. Authentic and honest yummy food from the sub continent shared with some business colleagues. Definitely going again if around Newcastle in the evening.

Went there last night with my gf. Service was really nice. The waiter was very friendly. Food was so good. I really enjoyed the curry I had my gf enjoyed hers too. But I think she liked mine more. Overall I’d definitely go back, you guys were lovely ! :))

The quality of food is 2nd to none. Each dish is prepared with utmost details, which is evident in both the taste and presentation of food.

Phenomenal! The food was fresh and delicious. We had a group of 9 and shared 7 different entrees. My favorite was the Chicken Haleem. The lamb and beef dishes were excellent too and meat was tinder. If you’re in the area, this is a must.

We got the butter chicken, Dahl, and baraat lamb, plus a garlic and cheese naan, all were delicious.

We were on our way back to Sydney and wanted to spend some time at New Castle, but before that we wanted to satisfy our taste buds with some good Indian food. Searched google and found this place luckily on our way. Had to spend some time to find a parking though, but it was worth.
We ordered two lunch specials one with butter chicken other with lamb rogan josh and few cheese garlic naans. It came on the table in no time.
Food was amazing and we both enjoyed it to the fullest.
We had a very good interaction with the owner and even he showed his kitchen and offered us some inhouse sweet delicacies to taste.
Five star for Food, Ambience and Customer Service.

This is the only authentic Indian restaurant I trust to always serve delicious food. I haven't been in the area for a number of years but the owner still recognised me and from the moment we walked in the door we were looked after well by the waitstaff. The food we ordered (lamb rogan Josh, butter chicken and chicken Korma) were all delicious and there's something about the rice they do that makes it elevated above normal rice.
No hesitation in recommending the fine Indian restaurant to others, especially coeliacs. 🤌

1st time at Zaffran, we attended with a Pakistan friend who stated the food was excellent and we thought likewise. Great service, food, and ambiance. We will be back.

Exceptional visit. We asked after vegan options and were told because they cool everything fresh that any vegetarian dish can be made vegan! The service was very friendly and made us feel welcome.

If you like Indian and want to break away from local food, this is a real nice address. The place is very warm and decorated with care and taste. A very nice varied menu. The dishes are succulent, fragrant and tasty as it should be. They are generously served. So if you take a rice and you started with starters, take one for two! The service is discreet and courteous The prices are in fact well above average but it is worth it for a good and pleasant evening.
